摘要： The invention provides a syringe assembly comprising a syringe barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber, an open proximal end, and a distal end having an opening therethrough. An elongated plunger rod extends between a first end and a second end, with a cap or guard disposed on the first end of the plunger rod. A plunger head extends within the chamber of the syringe barrel, and is adapted for slidable movement within the syringe barrel between the proximal end and the distal end, with the second end of the plunger rod connected with the plunger head through a pivotable connection. The plunger rod is adapted to pivot with respect to the plunger head between a first position in which the guard is adjacent the distal end of the syringe barrel and a second position in which the plunger rod is in general axial alignment with the syringe barrel, and is further adapted for axial movement so as to cause sliding movement of the plunger head through the syringe barrel to expel contents thereof.

摘要： A plunger rod adapted for attachment with a stopper for use with a syringe barrel is disclosed. The plunger rod includes an elongated member having a front end and a back end, the plunger rod extending along a longitudinal axis. The plunger rod includes at least one deflecting arm associated with the front end of the elongated member. The deflecting arm is capable of deflecting radially inward during insertion of the plunger rod into a stopper, and deflecting outward into contact with an inner surface of the stopper after insertion to lock the plunger rod within the stopper.

摘要： A syringe assembly having a collapsible or pivotable plunger rod with magnification properties is provided. In a pre-use or packaged state, the plunger rod is positioned substantially parallel to a barrel of the syringe assembly resulting in the syringe assembly having a reduced length and a smaller packaging footprint. The smaller packaging footprint allows for reduced storage space of the syringe assembly. Upon removal from a packaging and/or a storage space, the plunger rod can be slid or pivoted toward a proximal end of the syringe barrel and locked into place such that the syringe assembly is ready for use. The plunger rod can be shaped to provide magnification to indicia of the syringe barrel and/or contents. Alternatively, a separate magnification member can be associated with the plunger rod and/or secured about the syringe barrel.

摘要： An I.V. flush syringe assembly includes a barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber for retaining fluid, an open proximal end and a distal end including a distal wall with an elongate tip extending distally therefrom having a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the chamber. A plunger having an elongate body portion and a stopper slidably positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface of the barrel is provided. Anti-reflux structure in said barrel is provided for controlling stopper deflection when fluid has been delivered from the chamber and the stopper is in contact with structure on the distal wall.

摘要： A medical device for delivering a medicament to a patient. The device includes a syringe barrel assembly having a syringe barrel with a plunger movably insertable therein to expel medicament in the barrel. A needle cannula is connected to a needle cannula hub which is slidably arranged in the barrel for moving between an initial position in which the forward tip is exposed and a retracted position in which the forward tip is contained within the barrel. A retainer engages an annular groove defined in an inner surface of the barrel and secures the needle cannula hub at the initial position proximate the front end of the barrel. An urging member is arranged between the front end of the barrel and the needle cannula hub for urging the needle cannula hub toward the retracted position. The retainer is released in response to the application of medicament delivery force when the stopper is in a fully inserted position.

The plunger assembly includes an elongated plunger rod and a plunger head. The elongated plunger rod is associated with the plunger head to move the plunger head within the chamber of the syringe barrel through an injection cycle. The plunger rod is adapted to move from a collapsed position extending alongside the exterior surface of the syringe barrel to an extended position engaging the plunger head to move the plunger head through the injection cycle.

摘要： A syringe and detachable needle assembly having binary attachment features include an elongate syringe barrel having a longitudinal axis, an open proximal end and an open distal end including a collar. The collar includes the cylindrically shaped sidewall having an inside surface and an outside surface. A needle assembly includes the hub having a body portion including a proximal end, a distal end and a conduit therethrough. A cannula having a distal end, a proximal end and a lumen therethrough is attached to the distal end of the hub so that the lumen is in fluid communication with the chamber. A lug is provided on one of the collar and the hub and a ramp and a rest surface is provided on the other of the collar and the hub. The ramp is oriented at an acute angle with respect to longitudinal axis for guiding the lug during needle assembly attachment, to the rest surface forcing the hub to contact the barrel to form a seal the hub and the barrel.
