摘要： An injection device is provided, including a syringe having a barrel and a flange and a backstop configured to be coupled with the syringe adjacent to the flange. The backstop includes an inner surface generally extending around at least a portion of the syringe, wherein the inner surface includes at least one protrusion extending away from the inner surface and configured to engage the flange and/or the barrel to permit or promote airflow through a space between the inner surface and the syringe.

摘要： A syringe stabilizing apparatus has a base and a syringe support. The syringe support is vertically disposed above the base, elevating a fluid-filled portion of an infusion set vertically above the base and orienting a delivery end of the fluid-filled portion upwardly relative to a horizontal plane to take advantage of a gravitational effect on a fluid during delivery of the fluid from the fluid-filled portion to a patient. The syringe support comprises a first retainer and a selectively actuated tube clamp. The first retainer has an opening in which a rigid portion of the infusion set is received and retained therein without further user intervention. The selectively actuated tube clamp is operatively aligned with the first retainer. A flexible tube extending from the rigid portion of the infusion set extends through the selectively actuated tube clamp.

摘要： Insulin injection syringes are disclosed that include two types of components, namely, durable components that that do not contact the fluid path and can be reused, and disposable or single-use components that contact the fluid path and are not reused. The durable components do not contact the fluid path so that sterility is not affected. Two different syringe components include a reusable outer sleeve containing scale markings for the syringe and a reusable syringe plunger are provided as durable components in embodiments of the present invention. Syringes manufactured according to the present invention can employ one or both of these durable components. Methods for making, using and packaging such syringes are also disclosed.
