摘要: A polyurethane polymer is prepared from a reaction mixture comprising(a) a polyisocyanate component; and(b) an active hydrogen component containing(i) at least about 50 weight percent based on total active hydrogen component of at least one polyether polyol having an average nominal functionality of at least about 3 and containing at least about 50 weight percent oxyethylene units said polyether polyol not being ethylene oxide capped. The polyurethane polymer is a hydrocarbon resistant elastomer suitable for use in environments wherein it is exposed to hydrocarbons.

摘要: In a method of preparing a poly-urethane and/or -urea foam from a formulation including (a) a polyisocyanate, (b) an isocyanate-reactive component, and (c) a visible emissions producing component, wherein (a), (b) and (e) are reacted under reaction conditions sufficient to form a poly-urethane and/or -urea foam and the foam is then cooled, whereby visible emissions are emitted during cooling, an improvement comprising including in the formulation a visible emissions reducing agent, such that the amount of the visible emissions is reduced as compared with the amount emitted by a foam prepared from a formulation which does not contain the visible emissions reducing agent but which is otherwise substantially similar. Foams prepared therefrom exhibit reduction in visible emissions during the cure period, which is particularly evident when the foams are mechanically cooled. They also exhibit generally good physical properties.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an amine catalyst composition for producing polyurethane foam. The amine catalyst composition includes an amine catalyst and a diluent containing a thickening agent and water. The use of such a diluent, in place of conventional glycols, reduces raw material and processing costs as well as environmental concerns during the production of polyurethane foam.

摘要: A tertiary amine, such as a tertiary amine catalyst that is useful in the production of polyurethanes, may undergo decomposition, which may result in the production of undesirable products. These tertiary amines, however, may be treated with a primary amine containing material to reduce the presence of the undesirable products to an acceptable level. Thus, a foam made from a treated tertiary amine will also have a reduction in the presence of the same undesirable products.
