The brake assembly includes a brake cable housing shaped to enclose an excess portion of the brake cable assembly. The brake assembly includes a cable adjuster coupled to the brake cable assembly. The cable adjuster is enclosed by the brake cable housing. There is additionally provided a wheel fork assembly for a manually-operated, height-adjustable wheeled vehicle according to a first aspect. The vehicle includes a frame member. The wheel fork assembly includes a mount shaped to couple with a lower end of the frame member of the vehicle. The mount has a longitudinal axis. The wheel fork assembly includes a wheel fork having a longitudinal axis offset from the longitudinal axis of the mount. The wheel fork is integrally coupled to and formed with the mount.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a folding mechanism for a walker apparatus. The folding mechanism includes a pair of spaced-apart inner frame members. Each of the inner frame members has a first part and a second part hingedly connected together. The folding mechanism includes a pair of link members diagonally extending between and pivotally connecting to the inner frame members. The link members operatively connect the inner frame members together. According to another aspect, there is provided a walker apparatus having a pair of spaced-apart, foldable inner frame members and a pair of diagonally-extending link members. The link members connect the inner frame members together.
Abstract:
There is a provided a collapsible walker. The walker includes a pair of spaced-apart, arc-shaped support members. Each support member has a proximal end, a distal end and an apex spaced therebetween. Respective rods extend from the distal ends towards the proximal ends of the support members. A seat extends between and connects to the apexes of the support members. A basket with a pair of spaced-apart ends members operatively connects to and extends between the support members. The end members are positioned adjacent to the distal ends of the support members. Each end member operatively connects to both a respective one of the rods and a respective one of the support members. The walker includes a pair of connection brackets for connecting the end members to the walker. Each connection bracket extends from a respective one of the support members to a respective one of the rods.
Abstract:
There is provided a brake rod assembly for a walker apparatus. The assembly includes a brake rod operatively connected to a brake for braking the walker apparatus. The assembly includes a connection member operatively connected to a brake handle. The assembly includes a gripping member that is spring-biased to slidably receive the brake rod. The gripping member has an adjustment mechanism rigidly connected thereto that adjustably engages a connection member. Actuation of the connection member tilts the gripping member upwards and engages the brake rod for braking the walker apparatus.
Abstract:
There is provided a mounting assembly for connecting a wheel fork to a walker apparatus. The assembly comprises a frame portion of the walker apparatus having an upper bore, lower bore, and passageway extending between and positioned radially inwards relative to the bores. The frame portion has a first annular seat located between the upper bore and the passageway. A second annular seat is located between the lower bore and the passageway. The mounting assembly comprises a shaft assembly having a threaded upper end and an annular shoulder positioned below and extending radially outwards relative to the upper end. The annular shoulder is shaped to abut the second annular seat. The shaft assembly includes a lower portion spaced-apart from the upper end and rotatably connecting to the wheel fork. The mounting assembly comprises a connecting member threadably engageable with the upper end and abuttable with the first annular seat.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a bath seat. The bath seat has a top and a pair of centrally disposed and spaced-apart drainage holes in communication with the top. The top of the seat includes a channel extending between the drainage holes. The channel has an enlarged first end, an enlarged second end and a connecting portion connecting the ends of the channel together. Fluid entering into the channel is directed to the drainage holes and thereby drains from the seat.

Abstract:
The present application relates to a cable tension adjuster for a manually operated, height-adjustable wheeled vehicle. The vehicle includes a brake assembly including a brake cable assembly and a brake cable housing shaped to enclose an excess portion of the brake cable assembly. The brake assembly includes a cable adjuster coupled to the brake cable assembly, where the cable adjuster is enclosed by the brake cable housing. The brake cable housing provides an access port to access the cable tension adjuster.
Abstract:
There is provided a patient transport apparatus. The apparatus includes a height-adjustable assembly having a longitudinal axis. The apparatus includes a brake cable. The brake cable includes an elongate portion extending along the height-adjustable assembly and includes a slack portion. The apparatus includes a brake cable housing coupled to and axially offset from the height-adjustable assembly. The slack portion of the brake cable is enclosed within a hollow interior of the brake cable housing.
Abstract:
There is provided an assembly for selectively coupling together elongate members, of a walker apparatus. The assembly includes-a push-responsive actuator actuation of a first portion, of which promotes coupling of the elongate members together. The assembly includes an actuator-engagement member moveable from an unengaged position spaced-apart from the, actuator to an engaged position in which the actuator-engagement member extends across and actuates the first portion of the actuator.
