Abstract:
A method and system for detecting and controlling the quality of debarking at the surface of a wooden log provide information on main parameters related to the debarking quality of the log surface, including fiber loss and residual bark. The debarking quality detecting method and system involve measurement of three-dimensional profile of at least a portion of the log surface to generate corresponding profile image data, which is processed to generate data indicative of the texture of the log surface. The texture data is then analyzed to generate resulting data on the debarking quality parameters. That quality indicative information can be generated on a continuous basis to provide an objective assessment of the quality performance in real-time in view of target productivity, and may then be used to perform optimal adjustments of the debarker operating parameters, either manually by the operator or automatically through feedback control.

Abstract:
An approach is provided for performing multiple and hybrid forms of communication in the same communication session. A communication manager receives a to establish a communication session using a first form of communication, wherein the communication session supports multiple and simultaneous forms of communication. Next, the communication manager selects a second form of communication to conduct the communication session. Then, the communication manager transcodes the second form of communication to the first form of communication. The different forms can be converted to facilitate and enrich the communication capability, according to an embodiment of the invention.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, an apparatus, and a system for amplifying a burst optical signal. The method includes: monitoring an input status of a signal light; when no signal light is input, controlling output power of a pump light so that a gain medium has output optical power and the output optical power is less than a maximum optical power that the gain medium is capable of outputting when a signal light is input; inputting the pump light into a wavelength division multiplexer so that the wavelength division multiplexer combines the signal light and the pump light and inputs the combined light into the gain medium. With the preceding manners, when no signal light is input, the power of the pump light is controlled.
Abstract:
A loudspeaker has an alarm and a luminous element, these being an improvement upon exiting loudspeakers having luminous elements. The luminous element is an illuminating lamp. A radiative cooling fin is mounted near the illuminating lamp. The use of radiator cooling firework permits a larger power light to be selected as the luminous element. This makes the loudspeaker capable of functioning as a substitute light source within an area. Also, the assembly employs an alarm with the loudspeaker. The brighter light emitted by the illuminating lamp on each loudspeaker provides better illumination. The lamp may also flash according to pre-programmed directions for the purpose of indicating a path and thereby helping people to escape from danger. Further, where the external power source fails, the loudspeaker assembly has a built-in emergency power source, ensuring that the loudspeaker and the illuminating lamp can still work normally.
Abstract:
A stator mechanism of linear motor. The stator mechanism includes multiple magnetic members. The magnetic members are sequentially arranged along a predetermined straight line with the magnetic poles of the same polarity adjacent to each other to repel each other. Each magnetic member includes at least two magnetic bodies, which are coaxially arranged with the magnetic poles of different polarities adjacent to each other to attract each other.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a combined power socket for artificial Christmas trees, including pairs, they can be set in the ring structure of rod or tube on the outer surface of the first and second socket, the lateral wall of the two on or near the lateral wall is formed at the outlet hole. The hole and the two one inside by a wire leads the first conductive connector is also one of the outlet hole through the guide wire leads to a second conductive contact with the first conductive connector of the adapter or an external power socket and adapter plug. At least one of the outlet holes of the two ends is also provided with at least one power supply connector through a conducting wire. The present disclosure relates to a combined power socket two first and second as a group, and can be connected with the other group are connected with each other to achieve interconnection, at the same time through the power supply connector leads from each combination type power socket for external devices, such as lamp series power supply, which has the advantages of simpler structure, more convenient connections to external devices.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for determining a user age range. An age estimator causes, at least in part, acquisition of voice data. Next, the age estimator calculates a first set of probability values, wherein each of the probability values represents a probability that the voice data is in a respective one of a plurality of predefined age ranges, and the predefined age ranges are segments of a lifespan. Then, the age estimator derives a second set of probability values by applying a correlation matrix to the first set of probability values, wherein the correlation matrix associates the first set of probability values with probabilities of the voice data matching individual ages over the lifespan. Then, the age estimator, for each of the predefined age ranges, calculates a sum of the probabilities in the second set of probability values corresponding to the individual ages within the respective predefined age ranges. Further, the age estimator determines the predefined age range to associate with the voice data based, at least in part, on the calculated sums of the probabilities.
