摘要: The present invention includes a lubricated bearing which incorporates a phase convertible compound. The compound absorbs and stores heat generated during operation of the bearing. This absorbs and stored heat is then released upon start-up conditions of the bearing, especially under low temperature conditions. The released heat is used to improve the ability of the lubricant contained within the bearings to reduce friction of the relatively movable parts contained therein.

摘要: A segment roll for use in a continuous casting machine includes a number of roll segments axially spaced apart and supported in bearings on a non-rotating shaft. Each roll segment is a self-contained unit including a sleeve-shaped outer mantle, an internal sleeve disposed coaxially within the outer mantle, and a bearing assembly disposed radially between the outer mantle and the inner sleeve within an annular recess disposed at each end of the roll segment. Each bearing assembly is spaced from an inner envelope surface of the internal sleeve and includes a bearing and a seal, wherein the internal sleeve is in non-rotatable contact with the non-rotating sleeve.

The bearing is characterized in that said raceways are provided with parallel grooves, each one of said grooves being arranged in the plane of rotation of said rings and extending along the entire envelope surface, and in mutual correspondence to said inner and outer rings and being arranged for mating interaction with protruding flanges of said roller elements corresponding to said grooves, said protruding flanges extending along the entire envelope surface of said roller elements.

摘要: The invention refers to a pressure compensating device (4) for a bearing housing, which is incorporating a sealed off compartment, and which device is intended to compensate pressure variations in the sealed off compartment, wherein the device (4) incorporates a housing (5, 6, 7), in which is positioned a bellows (9) of flexible material, which housing (4) has at least one first opening (10) through which the interior of the bellows (4) communicates with the side of the bearing housing where a varying pressure can be expected, and wherein the bellows (4) further is associated with an additional opening (8), adapted to allow the bellows (4) to alter its momentary form for compensating such pressure variations.
