    摘要： In a method for improving the security of postage meter machines in credit transfers, having at least two modes, the presence of a security flag is necessary for operation of the machine. The security flag is erased in a step of the system routine if an unauthorized action occurs in an attempt to operate the postage meter machine, and the postage meter machine is switched into a first mode in order to effectively shut it down. Otherwise, a special mode for negative remote crediting is entered by setting a special flag when a predetermined operating action for lateral entry into the special mode is undertaken upon machine turn-on. The communication with the data center sequences under time and status (flag) monitoring by the control unit of the postage meter machine until the transaction is completed. The data center monitors the behavior of the postage meter machine user on the basis of data communicated during the transaction.

    摘要： In a method and arrangement for data follow-up for warmup cycles of an ink jet print head, a memory stores warmup data of an ink jet print head and a control unit is provided for the driving the ink jet print head and is programmed to implement at least one measurement of the ambient temperature and to access the memory dependent thereon and dependent on predetermined, stored conditions in order to implement a data follow-up corresponding to the temperature-related, history-related and/or user-related conditions for a fast start. Storage of warmup data and data for a first condition ensues upon new installation of an ink cartridge before the first use thereof, and parameter data for second conditions are determined for a fast start given repeated use, and the appertaining warmup data are computationally or tabularly determined given current second conditions.

    摘要： In a method and apparatus for paying for recrediting of an electronic postage meter machine, switchable into a reloading mode, and communicating with a data central, data is entered into the postage meter machine and the postage meter machine is switched into a communication mode or into a credit inquiry mode. Communication is established with the data central and a plausibility check of the entered data and register values is undertaken in the data central, and a credit inquiry process is begun by the data central if a credit card number has been entered via the postage meter machine. The data central contacts a credit card processing center for verifying the credit card status of the customer and, upon receiving an authorization indicating an acceptable credit card status of the customer, the data center processes the reloading event. If the credit card processing center indicates an unacceptable credit card status, the preceding steps are repeated. A list of successful credit inquiries can be produced. The credit card processing center authorizes a transfer of funds from a bank of the customer, and subsequently the transfer of funds is implemented to credit the bank of the nationally authorized postal carrier who is responsible for postal deliveries.

    摘要： In an arrangement and method for offering a message when loading service data for a terminal device, a connector unit in a service center is connected to a server and is equipped with a number of modems that produce a connection to a communication system to which a number of clients are also connected. The server is operated in order to access a data bank, wherein the properties of the different clients are stored as to the information playback capabilities of the respective clients. The server selects an advertising message that is transmitted to the terminal device of one of the clients dependent on that client's playback capabilities. At least one data file of one of a number of advertising sources is through-connected by the connector unit to the terminal device.
