摘要: A surge arrester with a parallel-connected improved spark gap structure has a flanged ring connected to one of the two electrodes of the surge arrester which forms the first electrode of the spark gap structure, an axially aligned insulator disc having recesses therein seated on the flanged ring, and an annular metal contact seated on the opposite side of the insulator ring forming the second electrode of the spark gap structure through the recesses in the insulating ring has the improvements of the metal contact forming the second electrode of the spark gap being an annular cup having a base seated against the insulator ring and a conical wall connected via contact springs with the other electrode of the surge arrester, and the base of the annular cup has projections in registry with the insulator ring recesses extending a distance therein such that the spark gap is formed between the flanged ring and the highest elevation of the projections. The spark gap serves as a back up to a fail-safe device which would normally permanently short the surge arrester to ground after an extended discharge, which spark gap is resistant to conductive deposits being formed thereon.

摘要: The subject matter of the invention is formed by a cable distribution head with LSA-PLUS termination technique for terminating incoming and outgoing communications cables. LSA-PLUS termination technique means "solderless, non-screwed and non-stripped termination with polytropic air gap".In the housing (1) of the cable distribution head, which may be closed by a slip cover (4) adapted to be latched in the open and the closed state by means of projections (2, 3), there are provided a latchable LSA-PLUS terminal block (6) loaded with LSA-PLUS terminals (7a, 7b) disposed on the ends of a bar (7), there being provided between the LSA-PLUS terminals (7a, 7b) associated with the incoming and the outgoing communications cables (21, 22) an open-topped chamber (8) for receiving an overvoltage arrester magazine (9), further a clamping means (15) disposed on the end face (6a) of the LSA-PLUS terminal block (6) for solderless and non-screwed termination of an earth wire (16), a self-supporting shield contact member formed as a U-shaped metal clip (10) with contacting teeth (11) and a clip spring (12) adapted to be clamped into the metal clip (10), and a self-supporting strain relief means consisting of a clamping spring (13) adapted to be latched into the housing (1) and formed with a resilient lug (13a).

摘要: For reducing the engineering cost of construction and manufacture for the air gap associated with the second electrode in an overvoltage arrester with air gap connected in parallel, the arrester (22) is enclosed by a cylindrical metal sleeve (28). One edge (19) of this metal sleeve contacts the first electrode (3) of the arrester, while the other edge (14) is laid over inwardly and grips the auxiliary electrode (27) placed on the second electrode (25) with interposition of an insulating disk (26). The outside diameter of this auxiliary electrode (27) is greater than the outside diameter of the second electrode (25). For the centering of the arrester (22) in the metal sleeve (28) the distance between the arrester and the metal sleeve is smaller, at least at three points over the circumference, than the required radial safety distance between the metal sleeve and the second electrode. This can be achieved, for example, by several punctiform depressions (30) of the metal sleeve arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference or also by an annular construction (29).

摘要: Alignment device for connecting optical waveguide fibers wherein the ends of the fibers are inserted in a V-shaped groove in the device and clamped in place. The object of the invention is to produce a proper connection of the fiber ends, by technically simple and economical means, the correctness of which connection can be observed visually at any time, i.e. during and particularly after the formation of the connection. The path along which the fiber ends are moved when they are inserted into the V-shaped groove is perpendicular to the direction in which the fibers and groove are orientated, the vertex angle of the groove is orientated laterally in such a way that its bisector runs approximately horizontally, the depth of the groove is less than the diameter of the fiber end, so that when the fiber end is held in place it extends out to the side, out of the groove, and can be observed, there are two holding elements associated with each fiber end, one adjacent the end face of the fiber, and the other farther back away from the fiber end, and the holding elements associated with a fiber end are acted upon by at least one actuating member.
