Abstract:
A solid rubber tire and tread for use on a metal wheel rim includes a circumferential solid rubber tire having width and an inner radius at which the solid rubber tire engages across an outer surface of the metal wheel rim. The tire has an exterior rolling surface for rolling contact with the ground and opposed side walls connecting between the inner radius and the outer surface on both sides of the tire. A tire tread is formed with a first plurality and a second plurality of tread channels. The first plurality of tread channels are formed into the tire uniformly spaced circumferentially around the tire and extending inward from one of the sidewalls less than the entire distance across the width. The tread channels extend in a radial outward direction from a minimum tread radius adjacent to the inner radius of the tire and to the exterior surface so that the tread channels continuously extend to the rolling surface as the solid rubber tire wears. The second plurality of tread channels are formed into the tire uniformly spaced circumferentially around the tire and extending inward from the other sidewall less than the entire distance across the width. Each of the tread channels extending in a radial outward direction from a minimum tread radius adjacent to the inner radius of the tire and extending to the exterior surface so that the tread channels continuously extend to the rolling surface as the solid rubber tire wears.
Abstract:
A solid rubber tire with a flexible drive hub having a multiplicity of hub ribs and grooves formed around the periphery of the flexible drive hub and a solid rubber tire tread replaceably mounted on the flexible drive hub having a multiplicity of interior tread grooves and ribs formed around an interior surface of the tire tread, the tread grooves and ribs sized and shaped for interlocking engagement witht he multiplicity of ribs and grooves formed around the periphery of the flexible drive hub.
Abstract:
A wheel and solid rubber tire assembly as provided with a metal wheel having a predetermined diameter and a cylindrical rim around the periphery of the wheel. The rim has a predetermined narrow width. A soft narrow layer of rubber is secured to the narrow rim and has a first diameter and a first width at the first diameter approximately equal to the narrow width of the rim. The soft layer has a second predetermined diameter larger than the first diameter. A wide wear layer of solid rubber, having a width that is significantly greater than the width of the narrow layer, is bonded to the narrow layer at the second diameter. The wear layer has a predetermined maximum outer diameter that is larger than the second diameter of the inner soft layer. The wear layer has a hardness greater than the hardness of the soft narrow layer. The movement of the soft inner layer upon compression is increased per pound of impact so that a smoother ride is provided.
Abstract:
A wheel and tire assembly with a solid rubber tire for use on heavy construction equipment. The assembly comprises a mounting disc, a large diameter rim, having a cylindrical surface, rigidly affixed to the mounting disc and having actually opposed peripheral sides. Cross rib means are rigidly fastened to and laterally extending across the cylindrical surface. There are side support means rigidly affixed to and radially projecting from each peripheral side of the cylindrical rim surface. A base layer of even thickness of substantially flat rubber is cemented to the cylindrical surface interposed between the cross ribs and the side supports. Multiple additional layers of even thickness substantially flat sheet rubber are bonded to the base layer and each succeeding additional layer of even thickness substantially flat sheet rubber is bonded to the preceding additonal layer until a low profile solid rubber tire is obtained, which tire is bonded directly to the large diameter rim.
Abstract:
A method of constructing and making a squeegee blade includes forming a mounting plate with support members attached to a surface of the mounting plate. Forming a flexible blade and securing the flexible blade to the surface of the mounting plate with the support members embedded so that the flexible blade is supported by the support members against compression toward the mounting plate.
Abstract:
A squeegee blade includes a mounting plate with a surface. A relatively rigid support member is attached to the surface of the mounting plate and a relatively flexible blade is attached to the surface of the mounting plate adjacent to the support member so that the blade is supported by the support member against compression toward the mounting plate.

Abstract:
A solid rubber tire for use on vehicles such as heavy construction equipment is provided with a plurality of layers of different hardness. One of the layers is relatively softer than the other layers and holes are formed at least partially into the tire to provide added flexibility and smoothness of ride to the solid rubber tire.
