    摘要: The invention relates to an arrangement for connecting a computer to a digital public or private telecommunications network in order to exchange data between the computer and a data transmitting/receiving device connected to the telecommunications network. The connection of the computer to the telecommunications network is effected via an interface subassembly and at least one primary rate access. A high data transfer rate required by the primary rate access is achieved in the interface subassembly using a parallel arithmetic and logic unit, which, in turn, is embodied, for instance, by transputers. A method is also disclosed for a software bit rate adaptation, that is performed in the parallel arithmetic and logic unit. The computer is linked to the interface assembly via a bus system, such as a Multibus I.
