摘要: An ultrasonic irradiation apparatus irradiates ultrasonic waves onto a wide area having three-dimensionally curved surfaces. An ultrasonic irradiator having a plurality of ultrasonic transducer is arranged in a plane. The position of at least a portion of the ultrasonic transducers is mutually and flexibly changeable in three dimensions. Ultrasonic transducers are installed on a surface of a flexible and/or elastic sheet member or net member. The ultrasonic irradiator may include a plurality of ultrasonic transducers formed on a flexible piezoelectric sheet member, including driving electrodes arranged on one surface and opposed electrodes arranged on another surface. The ultrasonic irradiator may be installed on or inside of a flexible planar bag containing a fluidic ultrasonic conductive medium. A mechanism is provided for moving or tilting the ultrasonic irradiator with respect to the object, or a band-holding member may be provided for fitting the irradiator to the object.

摘要: The present invention relates to a signal processing apparatus for quantitatively measuring ultrasonic characteristics of a medium, such as a human body and realizes the high speed quantitative measurement by processing all signals in the time domain. In the processing for eliminating an error, produced by a degree of convergence of the ultrasonic beam, a correcting function that is a function of the depth and frequency is employed. The correcting function is measured in a no-attenuation medium and converted into a form suited to the time domain processing. The function is stored and such frequency characteristics of the function are sequentially read during an actual medium measurement to control the characteristic of a variable characteristic filter to correct the received signal.

摘要: This invention relates to a system for measuring the non-linear parameter B/A of an ultrasonic medium such as a living tissue, namely the value which indicates a rate of change of the sound velocity with change of pressure, utilizing reflected ultrasonic waves. In this invention, a measuring burst pulse, having a comparatively high frequency, and a pumping pulse, having a comparatively low frequency and a high sound pressure, for giving a change of pressure are transmitted in the same direction while they are superposed, the phase of the reflected waves from each region of the ultrasonic medium is detected as a function of time, and it is then differentiated. Thereby, the distribution of B/A along the transmitting direction of said pulses can be obtained.

摘要: A method for ultrasonic living body tissue characterization using a transducer and processor. The method includes the steps of transmitting an ultrasonic pulse into the tissue and receiving a reflected pulse, calculating the normalized power frequency spectrum of the reflected pulse, determining the frequency at which the maximum value for the power spectrum occurs, determining the high and low half power frequencies, calculating the upper and lower frequency ratios of the maximum value frequency and the half power frequencies, and determining the power exponent of the frequency of the reflection coefficient. The frequency exponent of the reflection coefficient is used to calculate the attenuation slope of the ultrasonic wave. The attenuation slope or the reflection power exponent is used to generate a tomographic image of the living tissue characteristics for visual non-invasive tissue diagnosis. The attenuation slope and/or the reflection power exponent tomographic image or the others can be combined with a reflection intensity tomographic image or the others to produce other diagnostic images.

摘要: This invention relates to a system which characterizes a inhomogeneous medium such as living body tissue by transmitting the ultrasonic wave including plurality of different frequencies to a measuring medium and analyzing the reflected wave from said medium. Generally the ultrasonic waves including different frequencies have respectively different frequency dependent acoustic field profiles. This invention is characterized in that such frequency characteristic of a measuring system is obtained by previously measuring the reflected waves from the reference reflector placed in the reference medium which is homogeneous or weakly inhomogeneous and has almost ignorable or frequency independent attenuation in order to eliminate adverse influence on the received wave due to said difference, such adverse characteristic is stored in the memory, and thereby the signal received when measuring a medium is compensated by said compensating data stored in the memory.

摘要: A measurement method and system for measuring characteristics of attenuation of domains in an object comprises transmitting ultrasonic waves into the object and receiving ultrasonic waves reflected from the object. The measured characteristics of attenuation of reflected waves is determined using signal intensities. A plurality of ultrasonic waves having different frequencies are transmitted either simultaneously or alternately to an object, and the reflected waves are received from the object. The signal intensities corresponding to the transmission frequencies among the reflected waves are stored and the signal intensity ratio is calculated. The signal intensity ratio indicates the attenuation characteristic. The attenuation coefficient can also be obtained using a time interval from the transmission time to the time of the reflected wave is received. The attenuation slope can be obtained from this attenuation coefficient and the frequency difference between transmitted ultrasonic waves.
