    摘要: A transmission control apparatus for an automobile to be arranged on or near an instrument panel of a vehicle comprising: a bracket for supporting a control lever unit for speed-change operation; a plate secured to the bracket; a shaft passed through both the bracket and the plate for rotatably supporting the control lever unit therearound; a first shock absorbing portion adapted to be broken when a shock load exceeding a predetermined value is applied to the control lever unit in order to absorb the shock load and to release the support of the shaft from the bracket or the plate; and a second shock absorbing portion adapted to be deformed by the shaft released from the bracket and displaced together with the control lever unit over a predetermined stroke in order to continuously absorb the shock load.

A core 11 is provided on the inside of the lever knob, and formed on the core 11 are screw cramps 11b, comprising cylindrical bosses, inside which are inserted screws that fix the core 11 to the lever shaft. V-shaped cut-out grooves 110 formed in the height direction of the cylindrical bosses are provided on the cylindrical parts 11b1 of the screw cramps 11b to reduce the thickness of the cylindrical parts 11b1, providing weak sites with response to the load that acts on the lever shaft in the axial direction.

    摘要: A push-button box-opening structure is provided in which a push button is pushed in from an unlocking starting position to an unlocking position to open a storage box. The unlocking starting position is set at a position where the push button is pushed in a given depth from a pushing-in starting position so as to prevent inadvertent opening of the storage box. The storage box does not open when the button is inadvertently pushed in up to the given depth.

    摘要: A vehicle occupants protection system wherein a front pillar garnish is mounted on a passenger compartment side of a front pillar which supports a roof with a predetermined amount of space being maintained therebetween for accommodating a side airbag, as well as a small impact absorbing member for absorbing an impact of such a small magnitude that the side airbag remains unopened, whereby the side airbag is inflated by gas generated when an impact of a predetermined magnitude or more is applied to a side of a vehicle so as to expand into a passenger compartment while forcibly opening one end portion of the front pillar garnish. A bottom surface of the small impact absorbing member is divided into two portions, a rear half portion located closer to the side airbag and a front half portion located farther away from the side airbag. Only the front half portion is attached to the front pillar garnish.
