The capacitor includes a dielectric member having a first face portion opposite a second face portion, a first electrode section disposed on the first face portion of the dielectric member, a conductive member facing the second face portion of the dielectric member and forming a second electrode section when brought into contact with the second face portion of the dielectric member, and an elastic member coupled with the conductive member and adapted for biasing the conductive member away from the second face portion. A contact area between the conductive member and the second face portion varies depending on the pressure applied thereto through the rod.

    摘要: A position indicator includes a tubular core member, a first coil, a second coil, a substantially bar-like rod, a pen-pressure detecting element, at least one capacitor, and a switch. The tubular core member is formed by a substantially bar-like first magnetic core and a substantially bar-like second magnetic core, which are combined in a transversal direction thereof to form a through-hole therebetween. At least one of the first and second magnetic cores may include a recessed portion formed therein extending in the axial direction thereof. The first coil is wound around the tubular core member, and the second coil is wound around the second magnetic core. The rod is inserted into the through-hole of the tubular core member. The pen-pressure detecting element detects a pressure applied to an end of the rod (i.e., the pen tip). The capacitor is connected to the first coil to form a resonant circuit. The switch controls “on” and “off” states of the second coil for the purpose of calculating a rotation angle of the position indicator about its axis.

    摘要: A variable capacitor is provided for use with an electronic circuit board including a first terminal portion and a second terminal portion, to be built in a position indicator. The variable capacitor includes a dielectric having a first surface portion and a second surface portion opposite to the first surface portion, and a conductive elastic member having a board coupling portion and a dielectric contacting portion. The first terminal portion is coupled to the first surface portion, the second terminal portion is coupled to the board coupling portion, and the dielectric contacting portion is disposed separately from the second surface portion so as to face the second surface portion and is configured to be deformed to come in contact with the second surface portion of the dielectric. The variable capacitor is configured such that a contact area between the second surface portion and the dielectric contacting portion is changed in correspondence to a depressing force, which is applied against the dielectric contacting portion in a direction toward the dielectric, thereby changing an electrostatic capacitance of the variable capacitor.

In the variable capacitor, the second electrode includes at least one electrode piece having an abutting central portion, against which the pressing member transmits a pressing force applied thereto, and an extension portion that radially extends from the abutting central portion toward a circumferential portion of the dielectric. A contact area between the dielectric and the second electrode is changed in accordance with a pressing force applied to the pressing member, to thereby change a capacitance of the variable capacitor.

    摘要: In an input pen having a pen-shaped casing, a ferrite core with a coil wound thereon and a ferrite chip are placed opposed to each other with an O-ring therebetween. The ferrite chip has a projection. When the input pen is operated, the projection and the ferrite core are moved closer together. When the ferrite chip is moved closer to the ferrite core during operation, the projection is placed substantially close to the ferrite core. Therefore, high responsivity is ensured without moving the ferrite chip into the coil, and there is no need to form an opening or a cavity in the ferrite core.
