    摘要: A fuel filler system for use in a vehicle is provided. The system includes a fuel filler tube, a locking bracket coupled to an inner surface of the fuel filler tube, and a closure device coupleable within the tube end and including an outer wall and a radially movable tab extending from the outer wall. The tab engages the locking bracket after rotation of the closure device from a first rotational position to a second rotational position to prevent rotation of the closure device relative to the locking bracket. The closure device further includes a web flexibly connecting the tab to the outer wall and a region of weakness defined in the web, such that upon forcible rotation of the closure device from the second rotational position to the first rotational position, the region of weakness facilitates separation of the web from the outer wall.

    摘要: A cap device of the invention has a tether mechanism, which is used to link a fuel cap to a fueling lid. The tether mechanism includes a cord-like flexible linkage body having one end as a first support end, which is fit in a support member of a rotating ring. The first support end is inserted from inside of the rotating ring through an insertion opening into a support recess. This fits the first support end in the support recess, while allowing the linkage body to be led through a lead opening. The first support end is accordingly fixed to the support member. The rotating ring is then attached to a circular groove formed on the fuel cap. The tether mechanism of this simple structure is readily fixed and thereby ensures easy attachment to the fuel cap.

    摘要: A fuel cap 20 includes a casing 21, a handle 22 mounted on an upper portion of the casing 21 composed of a non-conductive resin material, and grounding mechanism composed of a conductive material. The grounding mechanism includes a contact member 31 that is attached to the handle 22 and is arranged at a position to be in contact with the handle 22 when the handle 22 is held with fingers, and a tether 34 that is linked with the contact member 31 and is used for connection with a fueling lid 12. When the user grasps an operating portion 23a of the handle 22, the user touches arches 31a, 31a of the contact member 31 and the static electricity accumulated in the user is grounded through the tether 34. The fuel cap 20 of this simple structure does not require the high accuracy of dimensions to form the grounding means and attains the sufficient shock resistance.

    摘要: A fuel cap of the invention has a torque mechanism that transmits a rotational torque to a casing main body via engagement of a first torque arm of a torque plate with a handle engagement element, in response to rotation of a cover in a closing direction. When the rotational torque exceeds a predetermined level, the engagement is released to give a click. The first torque arm is constructed as a cantilever beam having a free end that is arranged to face an arm support member across a preset gap. Under application of pressure from the handle engagement element, the first torque arm is deformed in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the first torque arm at a two-point support where the free end is in contact with the arm support member, and transmits a rotational torque in the closing direction to the casing main body. This arrangement of the invention assures setting of the rotational torque of the torque mechanism to the predetermined level to apply a sufficient sealing stress to the fuel cap.

The clutch mechanism 60 comprises a clutch switch 61 in the form of a cantilever which is pushed during the installation operation, and a one-way clutch unit. Squeezing an operating portion 47 and operating in the closing direction causes the clutch switch 61 to flex, maintaining a clutch arms 62 and clutch teeth 64 in the engaged state so that rotational torque is transmitted. The fuel cap 10 maintains a good seal even if the handle mechanism 40 should be subjected to external force, while at the same time providing superior ease of operation during installation and removal.

    摘要: The fueling device includes a casing main body with an inlet opening. The casing main body is mountable in the fuel passage of the fuel filler pipe. A cap main body for opening and closing the inlet opening is engageable with the casing main body. A shutter is disposed in the fuel passage on the fuel tank side and is urged closed by a biasing member. A seal ring is mounted on the shutter, which is seated on a seat surface of the casing main body so as to seal the interior of the fuel tank in an air-tight manner against the outside by compression of the seal ring between the shutter and the seat surface. Engagement catches that fasten the cap main body to the casing main body operate to connect the cap main body and the shutter in such a manner that rotational force of the cap main body is converted into force in the direction in which the seal component is pressed to the seat surface to compress the sealing ring therebetween.
