    摘要: Emissions of sulfur oxides from the regenerator of a fluidized catalytic cracking unit are reduced by selectively removing a portion of the sulfur from sulfur-containing coke deposits on deactivated cracking catalyst. This is accomplished by reaction of these deposits with limited amounts of molecular oxygen in a stripping zone at a temperature in the range from about 550.degree. to about 700.degree. C. Effluent gas from the striping zone is combined with the cracked hydrocarbon products.

    摘要: A process for fluid catalytic cracking of residuum and other heavy oils comprising gas oil, petroleum residue, reduced and whole crudes and shale oil with high metals contents wherein contaminant metals comprising nickel, vanadium, copper and iron are deactivated, organic sulfur compounds deposited on the cracking catalyst are removed, wherein the said contaminant metals are deactivated by contact with a high temperature reducing atmosphere comprising carbon monoxide in a range of from about 4 to about 14 volume percent, the temperature being at least 900.degree. F. and preferably greater than 1200.degree. F., wherein the catalyst is modified with at least one inorganic sulfur oxide absorbent which reacts with sulfur oxides under regeneration conditions to form non-volatile inorganic sulfur compounds, the said sulfur oxide absorbent being present in sufficient amount to effect said reduction of said sulfur oxides.

    摘要: A cyclic, fluidized catalytic cracking process providing reduced emissions of noxious effluents in regeneration zone flue gases is operated with homogeneous or non-homogeneous, regenerable, fluidized, solid particles which are circulated throughout the catalytic cracking process cycle and which comprise (1) a molecular sieve-type cracking catalyst, comprising a cracking catalyst matrix containing crystalline aluminosilicate distributed throughout said matrix and (2) a metallic reactant which reacts with a sulfur oxide to form a metal- and sulfur-containing compound in the solid particles. The method involves regeneration of the cracking catalyst in the presence of a metallic oxidation promoter which can also be a component of the solid particles.

    摘要: Small amounts of a promoter comprising palladium and ruthenium enhance the combustion of carbon monoxide within the regeneration zone of a catalytic cracking unit without simultaneously causing the formation of excessive amounts of nitrogen oxides. The palladium-ruthenium promoter also enhances the capture of sulfur oxides by suitable absorbents within the regeneration zone of a catalytic cracking unit without causing the formation of excessive amounts of nitrogen oxides. The ratio by weight on an elemental metal basis of palladium to ruthenium is from about 0.1 to about 10.

    摘要: Emissions of sulfur oxides from the regenerator of a catalytic cracking unit are reduced by selectively removing a portion of the sulfur from sulfur-containing coke deposits on deactivated cracking catalyst. This is accomplished by reaction of these deposits with limited amounts of molecular oxygen in a stripping zone at a temperature in the range from about 550.degree. to about 700.degree. C. Hot regenerated catalyst and/or hot effluent gas from the catalyst regeneration zone is passed to the stripping zone in an amount which is effective to maintain the temperature in said stripping zone within the range from about 550.degree. to about 700.degree. C.
