摘要: A foam assembly system is provided. The system is configured to heat a surface of foam. After the heating of the foam, an adhesive is applied, typically a high solids adhesive. The foam is then bonded to another foam surface. It has been found that the pre-heating of the foam before adhesive application greatly enhances the bond strength between the foam and the second foam surface to which it is adhered.

摘要: A two component sprayable adhesive and system for spraying is provided. The two component adhesive may have an adhesive, and an activator. These components are mixed after spraying, either in the air or on a substrate. The activator destabilizes the adhesive making it more tacky and effective. In at least one of the two components, an additive is provided to provide a visual indication that the components are mixed and/or properly mixed in the intended ratio.

摘要: The addition of a chlorinated alkyl phosphate oil to a natural latex emulsion has enabled the formulation of water-based contact cements with the ability to instantly bond porous substrates together. The adhesives offer the user of solvent based contact cements an alternative more practical than hot melts, two-part water-based, or slower setting one-part water-based adhesives in industries where the immediate assembly of porous substrates is necessary.

摘要: A foam drying apparatus is provided. The apparatus is configured to pass air, and in some cases heated and/or dried air, through a quantity of foam. This air passing through the foam absorbs or otherwise carries moisture out of the foam, drying it. The apparatus may utilize a pressure differential on opposite sides of the foam, causing air on the higher pressure side to pass through the foam. Typical applications may include the drying of foam assemblies which use water based adhesives to accelerate drying of the adhesive and/or removal of water from the foam assembly, and packaging of the foam assembly.
