摘要： An aesthetic, partially removable orthodontic appliance is described, including a polymeric body that conforms to the lingual soft tissue and at least one wire member extending from the polymeric body. Each wire member releasably engages with a respective anchor that is, in turn, connected to the lingual surface of a respective tooth when the polymeric body is moved in a generally gingival direction into abutting relationship with the lingual soft tissue. Other features of the appliance include self-guiding magnetic couplings and couplings based on interlocking mechanical structures that provide releasable engagement between the removable section and the anchors, as well as related methods for making and using the same.

摘要： A method of making transfer apparatus for use in indirect bonding of orthodontic appliances includes the act of applying a spacer material over a dentition replica. The spacer material includes at least one cavity for releasably receiving an orthodontic appliance, and a base of the appliance is in contact with one of the teeth of the dentition replica. A tray is formed over the spacer material and the spacer material is then removed. Subsequently, a quantity of matrix material is directed into the space between the tray and the dentition replica in order to releasably hold the appliance for an indirect bonding procedure.

摘要： An orthodontic force module is made of an elastomeric material and includes one or more eyelet segments along with one or more connector segments coupled to the eyelet segments. The configuration of the eyelet segments and the connector segments is arranged so that a substantially constant cross-sectional area is provided throughout the working length of the force module. As a result, the resistance to elongation is substantially uniform throughout the working range of the force module and premature degradation and failure due to relatively high, concentrated stresses are avoided.

摘要： A unitary dispenser for elastomeric orthodontic devices such as ligatures and teeth separators has a circular carrier band that carries a series of the devices. A central, flat web is connected to the inner periphery of the band and extends across the middle of the dispenser to provide a centrally disposed gripping section. The web is preferably thinner than the carrier band and thus facilitates one-handed manipulation of the dispenser without visual observation. In use, the dispenser is rotated about a central axis when the web is gripped between a thumb and forefinger in order to bring each of the O-rings into a convenient position for detachment from the carrier band.
