摘要:
The present invention is an adjustment means for a mandibular advancement device, having both intraoral and extraoral portions, including a body portion at the interface. The extraoral portion includes a lower arm and a curved upper arm. The posterior end of the upper arm includes a pad assembly that is adapted to make contact with and apply pressure to the subnasal maxillary bone. The lower arm includes a thread that is adapted to be threaded into an adjustment wheel so that turning in one direction causes the extraoral portion to retract into the body portion, causing the upper pad to apply greater pressure to the subnasal maxillary bone. Turning the adjustment wheel in the opposite direction causes the upper pad to apply decreased pressure. One complete revolution of the adjustment wheel in a first or second direction causes the extraoral portion to extend or retract by one millimetre in length.

Provided is an exchangeable or replaceable maxillary skeletal expander. The exchangeable maxillary skeletal expander including: a pair of guides configured to be fixed by micro implants implanted into maxilla; and an expansion part including: a pair of main bodies configured to be inserted and extended while sliding between the pair of guides; and an expansion screw configured to penetrate the pair of main bodies and adjust an interval between the pair of main bodies.

The present invention relates to a method and system for applying localized vibration directly to particular teeth with the upper and lower jaws. A headgear using an inner bow comprising at least two arms that inserts into the upper first molars and an elastic-type headgear strap attaches to the back of the neck and to the outside, or outer bow also having at least two arms. The inner bow and outer bow are coupled together generally in the center (or alternatively with at least one lateral extension that is off-centered) by an external extension. The external extension may further have a protrusion, that inserts into a corresponding orifice within a vibrating orthodontic device.

An orthodontic/orthognathic device for correcting and changing tooth placements and bone structure, and a method of using orthodontic/orthognathic device for tooth movement, correcting syndromic conditions of the mouth and osteogenetic correction. The device may be used for maxillary distraction and expansion as well as mandibular separation and expansion. The device can be controlled by computer to direct tooth and bone placement.

The disclosure is directed to a device and method of treating bone formation disorders or conditions by bioengineering a targeted bone tissue and modulating the homeostasis of osteogenesis and bone resorption by a localized delivery of peripheral blood mononuclear cells and/or hematopoietic stem cells, and/or cells, such as osteoclasts, obtained by the ex vivo differentiation of these cells. A therapeutic strategy, as well as a device to deliver the therapeutic strategy, is described herein.

The invention relates to a regulatable intraoral mandibular advancement device that can be used to prevent snoring and sleep apnoea. Said device comprises two splints connected by a central screw (1) inserted into a sheath (2) comprising an upper ring (3), said sheath being used as a guiding housing (4) for an upper bar (5) of an upper plate (6), and the lower part of the sheath comprising a longitudinal groove (8) enabling the course of an inner mobile threaded (10) ring (9) that is displaced by the screw (1), and on which a lower displacement ring (11) is arranged, open or closed, said ring being provided with a perpendicular hole (12) with elipsoidal conicity, in which the lower bar (13) fixed to the lower maxillary plate (14) is inserted. Said screw (1) is locked to the sheath (2) on its rear part.

A method is provided for regulating tooth movement, comprising extra-orally administering an effective amount of light transdermally to the maxillary or mandibular alveolar bone of a patient in need thereof. The repetitive dosage can be in the range of 24 J/cm to 200 J/cm. The light can have a wavelength in the range of about 585 nm to about 665 nm, or about 815 nm to about 895 nm. Light having a first wavelength can be administered to a first selected region of the alveolar bone, and light having a second wavelength can be administered to a second selected region of the alveolar bone to selectively regulate tooth movement during orthodontic treatment. An apparatus useful for applying light therapy extra-orally is also provided.

A face bow and protraction headgear to correct the anterior open bite in dentally Class III open bite cases. The appliance consists of a face bow and forehead pad. The face bow has intraoral and extraoral components custom made individually for each patient. The intraoral bow is inserted from the distal openings of tubes soldered to the extraoral face bow. The extraoral face bow extends backward to the front of the ear then turns upward and ends at the level of the hooks on the forehead pad. Only the forehead is used as anchorage unit. On both sides of the pad, adjustable wire hooks are placed which allow maintaining the distance from the forehead pad hooks to the face bow hooks. Heavy elastics are attached in between the hooks of the face bow and the hooks on the forehead pad.
