摘要: A novel pyrotechnic delay composition for use in metal delay fuse cartridges, including as its primary constituent Si—Al—Fe3O4 prepared from powdered form. The delay composition yields a progressive burning zone and burns substantially gas-free, is safe to handle, is resistant to moisture and degradation over time, can be incorporated within the confines of existing detonator shells, and poses no environmental hazards.

摘要: The present invention is a lead-free pyrotechnic composition comprising from about 60 percent by weight to about 80 percent by weight iodine pentoxide and from about 15 percent by weight to about 35 percent by weight of a solid-powder fuel. The solid-powder fuel may normally be selected from aluminum, magnesium, or a combination thereof. Depending upon the potential use for the lead-free pyrotechnic composition of the present invention, the composition may also include from about 4 to 10 percent by weight of a stabilizer that neutralizes any iodic acid formed by the iodine pentoxide, from about 3 to 5 percent by weight of a binder, or from about 5 to 15 percent by weight of a coloring agent. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the aluminum will comprise aluminum flake having a size ranging from about nanometers to about 100 nanometers.

摘要: Off-site factory built structure employs a chassis including two interior longitudinal beam members joined at their ends to a perimeter structure. A floor system is integrated within the chassis perimeter. A ledger member is fixed to the inner surface of each longitudinal perimeter member so that a top surface lies in a plane coincident with top surfaces of the interior longitudinal beams. Lateral members are coupled to the tops of the interior longitudinal beams and to the top of the ledger members. The lateral members include secondary stiffening members such as C-channel members, metal Z-channel members, or other metal members of similar structural capacity, spaced apart from each other by a maximum distance S, related to the width of the floor system W, by the equation: S 12−½W.

摘要: An igniter composition for a gas generator comprises a stoichiometric comation of pyrotechnic metal selected from the group consisting of beryllium, boron, lithium, sodium, titanium, magnesium, aluminum and alloys and mixtures thereof and one or more halogenated polymers; and fumed colloidal silica in an amount from about 0.5 to about 2.5 percent of the total composition weight.
