摘要: An engine conversion kit for converting an engine that combusts gasoline to an engine that combusts a fuel other than gasoline, such as E85 which is 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline includes a carburetor having a vent passageway that defines a vent size, and an automatic choke system. The kit includes a second carburetor including a primer passageway and a second vent passageway having a second vent size that is smaller than the vent size. The second carburetor is adapted to attach to the engine and replace the carburetor. A primer bulb is configured to connect to the engine and is operable to force air into the primer passageway.

摘要: The present invention provides an internal combustion engine including an engine housing, a crankshaft rotatably supported in the engine housing, a cylinder, a piston movable within the cylinder, a combustion chamber in fluid communication with the cylinder, a fuel system configured to provide fuel to the combustion chamber, an intake passageway configured to provide a fluid to the combustion chamber, and a first regulator at least partially positioned in the intake passageway. The first regulator is selectable from a plurality of regulators. The engine also includes a coupling device configured to maintain the first regulator in the intake passageway, and a slot in the interior wall of the intake passageway that receives an end of the first regulator. The first regulator is configured to be removed and replaced by a second regulator from the plurality of regulators without disassembly of the intake passageway.

摘要: An air/fuel mixing apparatus, configured for use with an internal combustion engine, includes a body defining a passageway therein, a throttle lever including a cam surface, a throttle valve positioned in the passageway and responsive to movement of the throttle lever, a choke lever including a follower surface configured to be engaged by the cam surface, and a choke valve positioned in the passageway and responsive to movement of the choke lever and the throttle lever. The air/fuel mixing apparatus also includes a solenoid configured to disengage the choke lever from the throttle lever, and move the choke valve to a substantially-opened position.

摘要: An intake manifold assembly includes an intake manifold having an inlet configured to receive an air/fuel mixture from a carburetor, an outlet configured to discharge the air/fuel mixture into a combustion chamber, an interior wall at least partially defining an intake passageway fluidly communicating the inlet and the outlet, and an aperture in the interior wall. The aperture is positioned between the inlet and the outlet. The intake manifold assembly also includes a first regulator received in the aperture and at least partially positioned in the intake passageway to effectively decrease the cross-sectional open area of the intake passageway. The first regulator is selectable from a plurality of regulators configured to each be at least partially positionable in the intake passageway. The first regulator is configured to be removed and replaced by a second regulator from the plurality of regulators without disassembly of the intake manifold from the carburetor.

摘要: A governor for an engine including a speed sensor, a throttle member, a linkage, a primary spring, and a secondary spring. The speed sensor moves in response to changes in a speed of the engine. The linkage is coupled between the speed sensor and the throttle member to move the throttle member between a first position and a second position in response to the speed of the engine. The primary spring directly couples the throttle member to the engine to bias the throttle member in a first direction, and the secondary spring directly couples the throttle member to the engine to bias the throttle member in a second direction at least partially opposite to the first direction.

摘要: An automatic choke apparatus for use in an internal combustion engine. The choke apparatus includes a choke valve automatically operable in response to the speed of the engine, a thermally conductive assembly that conducts heat from exhaust gases produced by the engine, a thermally responsive member in thermal communication with the thermally conductive assembly, and a mechanism that moves in response to the thermally responsive member to cause the choke valve to remain in at least a partially open position during engine starting when the thermally responsive member senses a temperature above a predetermined temperature. The thermally conductive assembly at least partially surrounds the path of the exhaust gases.
