摘要： A clamp secures disks to a hub through means of a push-on retaining ring which is engaged with a grip ring received in an annular groove extending around the hub. The grip ring is split and expansible to enable it to be engaged with, or removed from, the groove. Spaced detent grooves are formed in the external surface of the grip ring to provide different positions at which the retaining ring may be engaged with the grip ring to alter the degree of compression imparted to the disks by the retaining ring. The retaining ring may be pushed fully past the grip ring to release the clamp. An installation and release fixture is provided to selectively move the retaining ring over the grip ring.

摘要： Membrane separation of monosaccharides from an aqueous solution containing higher saccharides and saccharifying enzyme is considerably improved when the separation is performed under conditions where the polarization modulus for the enzyme is between 10 and 1,000, especially when the latter is between 50 and 500. A process utilizing this constraint affords a considerable savings in enzyme residence time and enzyme usage, and permits glucose of at least 94% purity to be prepared using membranes with a molecular weight cutoff as high as 70,000 with partial saccharification of thinned starch to give glucose levels in the range of 65-90%.

摘要： An oven assembly for a crystal resonator and oscillator utilizes a thermally symmetrical design to provide a high thermal gain. The oven assembly includes an encasement that forms a hermetically sealed oven chamber that is substantially cylindrical. Concentric with the oven chamber is an annular oven mass that functions as a heat reservoir for the crystal resonator that is contained within the oven mass. The cylindrical oven chamber and the concentric annular oven mass provide two levels of circular symmetry that help achieve a thermally isotropic oscillator environment. Wide-area uniform heat transfer promotes high thermal gain and minimizes thermal gradients. Another factor is the geometry and circuitry for temperature monitoring. Temperature sensors are equidistantly spaced from each other and are equidistant from the center of the oven chamber. Signals from the various thermistors are averaged to provide a more accurate temperature determination for regulating the heaters.
