Abstract: A closure assembly for a cell culture apparatus includes a port and a snap cap. The port has an annular sidewall defining an opening in communication with a cell culture chamber of a cell culture apparatus. The sidewall has (i) external threads for cooperating with internal threads of a twist cap and (ii) an annularly protruding snap cap engagement feature. The snap cap has a top and an annular sidewall extending from the top. The sidewall of the snap cap has an inwardly annularly projecting element configured to engage with the annularly protruding snap cap engagement feature of the port such that, when fully engaged, the snap cap is not readily removed from the port by unaided human force.

Abstract: An enclosure for securing a disc having a central aperture includes a base and a pivotable cover. A two part disc securing rosette has a first part on the base including at least two upstanding, circularly spaced apart segments with arcuate outer peripheral surfaces dimensioned for engaging the central aperture of a disc and a second part including at least two elongate, upstanding ribs extending radially from a position on the cover which is centered on the segments on the base, the number of ribs on the cover corresponding to the number of segments on the base, the ribs being positioned and dimensioned such that, when the enclosure is closed, the ribs on the cover enter the first part radially inwardly of the segments with the ribs contacting the radially inside surface of the corresponding arcuate segments for bracing the arcuate segments against breakage.

Abstract: A container for carrying an information storage medium includes top and bottom walls connected by a hinge or spine with each wall having upper and lower faces and side walls and end walls extending inwardly therefrom. The container further includes a medium-engaging element for securing the storage medium thereto, and a display region provided on the upper face of the top wall, in a region proximate at least one of the first and second end walls. The top and bottom walls, together with their respective side walls and end walls form first and second covers, respectively. The covers are hinged together, and are provided with latching features to secure the container in a closed condition.

Abstract: A package for housing two discs including a cover forming an elongated spine panel with first and second opposing panels extending therefrom such that the opposing panels selectively rotate between open and closed postions. First and second partial trays attach to the first and second opposing panels, respectively, and are laterally spaced so that when closed, the thickness of the package is approximately equal to that of one of the trays. Each partial tray has a planar surface forming a periphery and a recess, a rosette near a first side of the tray for engaging a central aperture to retain a disc within the recess and a spacing rim upstanding from the planar surface. The spacing rim is U-shaped so that in the closed position, the spacing rims do not overlap.

Abstract: Disclosed is a thin-walled closable storage package for media, which includes a base member and a cover member. The base member includes a thin-walled rear panel having structure for supporting media, such as for example, a compact disc or DVD, associated therewith. The cover member includes a thin-walled front panel and is hingedly connected to the base member. The cover member is movable between an open position wherein media can be engaged with or disengaged from the media supporting structure associated with the base member and a closed position wherein the base member and the cover member cooperate to enclose media engaged with the media supporting means. It is presently preferred that the storage package is unitary plastic structure which has been formed by injection molding. The storage package further includes a mechanism for reinforcing the rear panel and/or the front panel to improve the storage package's ability to withstand an impact force without damaging any media supported therein or dislodging media from the media supporting means.
