Abstract:
Some embodiments of the present disclosure include a shoelace device for securing a shoe onto a user, the device including a lace having a first end and a second end, a first t-locking fastener attached to the first end, and a second t-locking fastener attached to the second end. The lace may be made of an elastic material. Each t-locking fastener may be capable of pivoting about its respective end from a first position to a second position, wherein the second position is substantially perpendicular to a plane of a length of the lace.
Abstract:
Vibration-damping blankets are attached to the back surfaces of fairing panels of a flight vehicle (e.g., an aircraft or spacecraft) to reduce vibration, fatigue, structure and airborne transmitted energy, and cabin noise. In one case, the flight vehicle fairing has an exterior comprising exterior surfaces of a multiplicity of removable panels. A method of retrofitting the flight vehicle with vibration-damping blankets comprises: removing a panel from the flight vehicle exterior; attaching a vibration-damping blanket to a back surface of the removed panel; and installing the panel with attached vibration-damping blanket on the flight vehicle with the exterior surface of the panel forming part of the flight vehicle exterior. In one embodiment, the vibration-damping blanket comprises polymeric (e.g., aromatic polyamide) fibers in a nonwoven structure.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a payment application framework. In an example embodiment, a request at a payment facilitator is received. The request is for a split payment to a plurality of receiving parties. The request is processed to establish one or more payment transactions. A single transfer of funds is sent from an account of a sender to at least one account of a receiving party of the plurality of receiving parties.
Abstract:
A network operator intermediates a cashless transaction by sending a payment device issuer an outbound clearing data file enriched with cleansed merchant data. Issuers that choose to participate in the merchant data cleansing service will be provided with the cleansed, and optionally augmented, merchant information. Providing this data to the issuer could be used to help reduce costs associated with “do not recognize” calls by cardholders, disputed charges, and charge-backs. With cleansed data provided in the clearing record, a device holder would be given access to this cleansed information about the merchant where a transaction took place through their statement. The present disclosure also provides for augmenting the clearing record data to include merchant-specific add-on and/or aggregate data not presently included in the transaction clearing record, yet useful to the issuer both in form and content.
Abstract:
An energy management network is provided, comprising: at least one thermostat controller operable to control HVAC equipment on a premise, the at least one thermostat controller being installed by a installer; an environmental web service, operable to communicate with the at least one thermostat controller across a network and provide a registered user with remote portal access and control to the at least one thermostat controller; and wherein the environmental web service is operable to query the registered user through one of the remote portal access and the thermostat controller to rate the installation experience provided by the associated installer of their at least one thermostat controller, and receive installation experience data from the registered user.
Abstract:
A vehicle entertainment system and method to prevent a mechanical connection between certain components of an entertainment system for a vehicle can include an entertainment system housing containing a plurality of entertainment components and a remote control module. The remote control module can include a user interface on a surface of the remote control module. In addition, the remote control module can be configured to prevent secure mounting of the remote control module to the entertainment system housing when the remote control module is not the appropriate remote control module for the particular vehicle entertainment system.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a wireless transceiver are provided. Embodiments can be used in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wireless transceivers. In an embodiment, radio control signal bundles are provided as direct parallel interconnects between digital signal processing modules and the radio module of the wireless transceiver to enable a precise low-latency control of radio functions. In another embodiment, a separate physical line is provided to control each radio setting of the radio module, thereby enabling simultaneous real-time control of any number of radio settings. In a further embodiment, the various digital and analog components of the wireless transceiver are integrated within a single chip of the same process technology.

Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed for pairing computing devices using an authentication protocol that allows an initiating computing device to gain access to a secure, encrypted network of a target computing device.
Abstract:
A proximity network architecture is proposed that enables a device to detect other devices in its proximity and automatically interact with the other devices to share in a user experience. In one example implementation, data and code for the experience is stored in the cloud so that users can participate in the experience from multiple and different types of devices.
