A control point sends a request for a scene to be played back to a media server that stores Audio/Video (AV) content and receives the scene to be played back from the media server in response to the request. The control point receives information about supportable protocol and file format from a media renderer that will play back content, and determines a content resource, a protocol and a file format to be used for playback based on the information. The control point composes a scene to be played back based on the received scenes. The media renderer plays back the composed scene.

A method is provided for resolving a collision of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses between devices connected to a first server and a second server remotely accessed in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) remote access service. The second server receives address information of a network of the first server from the first server. The second server compares address information of a network of the second server with the received address information of the network of the first server, and determines whether a collision has occurred between addresses of the first server and the second server. A collided address is changed when the collision has occurred.

The method further includes obtaining the requested contact information updates from an address book associated with the at least one contact entry.
