    摘要: A communication system and format is described for use in assisted telephonic communications, intended to help users who are hearing impaired use the telephone system. A relay connects a hearing user with the assisted user. The relay creates a text message stream containing the words spoken by the hearing user. The relay then combines the digital characters of the text message with packets of digitized voice spoken by the hearing user and sends the combined digital data packets to the station of the assisted user. The station of the assisted user is capable of separating the voice from the text and displaying the text for reading by the assisted user.

    摘要: A steroid comprising a 17-spirolactone or corresponding open lactone structure is obtained by carbonylation of a 17-alkenyl or 17-alkynyl substrate. A 17-alkenyl intermediate may be prepared by semi-hydrogenation of a 17-alkynyl group. Multiple reaction schemes are disclosed for preparation of a 3-keto-9,11-epoxy-17-spirolactone steroid such as eplerenone. Novel intermediates are also disclosed, as well as steps for forming such novel intermediates, or converting them to further intermediates or products, by semi-hydrogenation, carbonylation, 6,7-dehydrogenation, furylation or other transformations or combinations thereof.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods of preparing pyrrole compounds of formula 14 and indolinone compounds of formula 1 via a synthetic route wherein the amide sidechain on the pyrrole moiety is attached prior to pyrrole formation. The compounds 14 produced by the methods herein are useful in the synthesis of compounds of formula 1, which are useful in the treatment of abnormal cell growth, such as cancer.
