    摘要: A connector for use with a tab style biomedical electrode is disclosed. The connector comprises pivotally mounted movable and fixed jaws and a spring biasing the jaws toward a closed position. The connector provides a high tab release force and yet provides an acceptably low actuation force. Preferably, the fixed jaw includes a smooth, continuous surface which facilitates insertion of the tab between the jaws of the connector.

The conductor member is preferably a thin flat, flexible member having a pad portion and a tab portion. Preferred arrangements having a field of conductive adhesive associated with the pad portion of the conductor member, completely surrounded by a border of insulator construction and skin adhesive, are described.     摘要: A biomedical electrode (10) adapted to be applied to a body (34). The electrode (10) has a backing material (16), preferably foam, having an aperture (20). A protective web (12) at least partially secured to the backing material (16) covers the aperture (20). A removeable liner (18) is positioned between the protective web (12) and the backing material (16). An electrically conductive adhesive (28) is positioned adjacent the backing material (16) on the opposite side from the protective web (12). A second removeable release liner (30) is positioned adjacent the electrically conductive adhesive (28) opposite from the backing material (16). A lead wire (22) having a conductive portion (24) is insertable under the protective web (12) to be secured there upon the removal of the release liner (18), by the protective web (12) and the electrically conductive adhesive (28). A bottom release liner (30) may be removed and the biomedical electrode (10) may be secured to a body (34). The conductive portion (24) of the lead wire (22) should be silver or silver plated and preferably subjected to chloride treatment.

    摘要: A dispensing device comprises a metering assembly adapted to be coupled to a conventional syringe, which metering assembly includes a long length of capillary tubing through which the fluid must pass into a flexible hose which delivers the fluid and means for applying a uniform force to the plunger to provide fluid flow through the capillary tube at a slow, steady rate over a long period of time. The metering assembly includes parts moveable between a metering position at which fluid flowing through the metering assembly must pass through the capillary tubing, and a purging position at which fluid propelled by manual operation of the syringe can bypass the capillary tube and flow rapidly through the metering assembly to purge the hose.

    摘要: A biomedical electrode which generally comprises a conductor member partially overlapping a separator construction. The conductor member is preferably a thin flat, flexible member having a pad portion and a tab portion. The tab portion overlaps the separator construction in a manner which centrally positions mechanical and electrical contact of electrode with an electrical lead to electrical instrumentation. Beneath pad portion and all or a substantial portion of separator construction is a conductive adhesive to provide good electrical interface between skin of a subject and the electrical instrumentation. Methods of manufacturing biomedical electrodes from strips of components are also disclosed.

    摘要: A biomedical electrode is disclosed which generally comprises an insulator construction and a conductor member. The conductor member is preferably a thin flat, flexible member having a pad portion and a tab portion. Preferred arrangements having a field of conductive adhesive, associated with the pad portion of the conductor member, completely surrounded by a border of insulator construction and skin adhesive, are described.

    摘要: A biomedical electrode comprising a backing, a biocompatible pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), a bonding sheet, an electrical conductor, and an electrolyte composition is shown. The biocompatible PSA coats one surface of the backing. The bonding sheet has first and second faces smaller in surface area then the backing. The first face is bonded to the biocompatible PSA. The electrical conductor has a top face with first and second surfaces. The first surface spans a portion of the bonding sheet and the second surface adheres to the biocompatible PSA. The electrical conductor has a bottom face with a third surface opposing the first surface and a fourth surface opposing the second surface. In electrical contact with the third surface is the electrolyte composition. The electrolyte composition is also, adhered to a portion of bonding sheet. A continuous high speed and low cost method of manufacture is also shown.
