Abstract:
Methods and systems for scheduling jobs in a distributed computing environment include: obtaining a set of task identifiers, each task identifier identifying a corresponding data processing task included in one of a plurality of jobs to be scheduled for execution at one of a plurality of data processing locations; and selecting and scheduling a data processing task of the identified job having a longest optimal completion time to the data processing location corresponding to the optimal completion time of the selected data processing task.
Abstract:
A method for managing file system replication can include: collecting event data associated with file system events, each of the file system events indicative of a modification of at least one file at a first file system location; for each of the file system events, generating at least one file system action to apply the modification of the at least one file at the first file system location to at least one corresponding file at a second file system location; storing the at least one generated file system action in an action buffer; identifying dependencies between file system actions in the action buffer; and scheduling the file system actions in the action buffer for execution based on the dependencies.
Abstract:
A fitness apparatus includes a first frame, a second frame, a nose part, a linear elastic element, and a cable. The second frame is pivotally connected to the first frame. The nose part and the second frame are coaxially pivotally connected to the first frame. The linear elastic element has a first end and a second end. The first end is connected to the first frame. The cable has a connecting end and a force-applying end. The connecting end is connected to the second end. The cable is pressed against the nose part, and the force-applying end of the cable drives the second frame. When the second frame pivotally swings against the first frame, the second frame pulls the cable and changes the length of the cable pressed against the nose part, whereby the linear elastic element may be stretched or shortened by the cable.
Abstract:
A fitness apparatus includes a first frame, a second frame, a nose part, a linear elastic element, and a lever. The second frame and the nose part are coaxially and pivotally connected to the first frame. The nose part is swingly connected to the second frame. The lever drives the linear elastic element. The linear elastic element is extendedly bounced and blocked on the first frame. When the second frame pivotally swings against the first frame, the movable range of the linear elastic element will be constrained by the lever because of its high stiffness. In addition, the linear elastic element can stably bounce instead of hitting the inner wall of the first frame. Therefore, the fitness apparatus using the lever can prevent the linear elastic element from sounds of hitting and attrition, so as to achieve the purpose of low noise and increasing the life time of components.
Abstract:
A laterally restrained joint structure including a structural member, a gusset plate and at least one restraining member is disclosed. The gusset plate is connected to the structural member, and a two-force member is disposed opposite to the structural member and connected to the gusset plate. The restraining member is disposed over side or at edges of the gusset plate and connected to the structure member, so that the lateral deformation of the gusset plate can be controlled and the buckling strength of the gusset plate can be enhanced by the restraining member, and the laterally restrained joint structure is capable of reinforcing a building.

An exercise device includes an upright post extended upwardly from a base, a pair of connecting members pivotally coupled to the upright post with an axle, two wheels rotatably attached to the axle, two lower brake arms and two upper brake arms pivotally attached to the upright post and each having a brake shoe for engaging with the wheels, a bar engaged with the free ends of the lower brake arms, and a follower engaged with the free ends of the upper brake arms and adjustable toward and away from the bar for adjusting a resistive force of the brake shoes onto the wheels and for adjusting the resistive force to the swinging movement of the handles and the elliptical movement of the foot supports.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a plurality of passageways extending in a mating direction and a plurality of contacts secured in the passageways of the insulative housing. The insulative housing further defines a plurality of communicating slots extending downwardly and communicating with the passageways. Each passageway is wider than the communicating slot which is thereabove. Each contact defines a connecting portion receiving in the passageway and a contacting portion bending upwardly from the connecting portion and extending beyond the communicating slot. The connecting portion defines a pair of restricting portions respectively extending from two sides thereof in a direction perpendicular to the mating direction, the pair of restricting portions is prevented in the passageway from extending beyond the communicating slot.
Abstract:
Provided are techniques for the transmission of electronic mail (email). While a user composes an email message and once an intended recipient has been entered, negotiation modules associated with client and server computers check both the recipient and attributes of the message as they are entered. The user is notified if there is an issue with the intended recipient and alternative recipients may be suggested. The user is also notified if a particular attribute exceeds a defined limit. In this manner, the user may alter the message so that the attribute conforms to the limit to ensure delivery. Tests may be provided to enable a user to exceed a limit and some users may be pre-authorized to exceed a limit.
Abstract:

The gate electrode is disposed adjacent to the cathode electrode with a distance therebetween. The ion collector is disposed adjacent to the gate electrode with a distance therebetween. The field emission film of the cathode electrode includes carbon nanotubes, a low-melting-point glass, and conductive particles.
Abstract:
A coaxial electrical connector includes a metallic shell having a tubular section with an axial direction and a soldering leg, a central contacts having a contacting section extending in the axial direction within the tubular section and a dielectric seat molded so as to hold together said metallic shell and the central contact as a unit. The metallic shell defines a filled groove around an inner face thereof and perpendicular to the axial direction. The filled groove is to receive a projection of the dielectric seat during a cool process of a molded process to form the coaxial electrical connector.
