A method includes providing an eye mark having at least two sections arranged along a longitudinal axis, wherein each section includes a border common to both sections and a unique characteristic relative to other sections. The method also includes encoding instructions in the eye mark based upon the combination of the at least two sections.

    摘要: In a printing system, a hue shift compensation method includes the steps of: printing in a first direction a first color having a first color composition; printing in a second direction a plurality of second colors having varying color compositions; measuring with a color sensor the first and second colors; selecting one of the second colors approximating the first color and having a second color composition; and storing data corresponding to the second color composition as direction dependent color map data for use in printing in the second direction.

    摘要: The present invention is a replaceable ink container for use in a printing system. The printing system is of the type having a printhead mounted in a scanning carriage and a supply station for receiving the replaceable ink container. The supply station is in fluid communication with the printhead. The replaceable ink container includes a fluid outlet configured for engaging corresponding fluid inlet portions on the supply station. Also included is a first and second guide feature disposed on an outer surface of the replaceable ink container. The first and second guide features'are disposed and arranged to engage corresponding first and second guiding features disposed on opposite ends of the supply station to guide the replaceable ink container into the supply station to fluidically couple the fluid outlet and corresponding fluid inlet.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for improving the print quality of a print job having black content. The black content is configured to be applied on a predetermined location on a print medium. In the method, the black content is fortified by applying a black dye based ink on the predetermined location and the black content is printed by applying a black pigment based ink on the predetermined location. The apparatus includes a first printhead configured to fire black dye based ink droplets on the print medium, a second printhead configured to fire black pigment based ink droplets on the print medium and a processing system configured to fortify the black content by controlling the first printhead to fire droplets on the predetermined location. The processing system is further configured to print the black content by controlling the second printhead to fire droplets on the predetermined location.
