Abstract:
A lift truck includes systems and methods for improved vibration control. Vibration control features reduce or eliminate motion of the truck in one or more of the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis. Some embodiments may include, alone or in combination with the vibration control, stability control to further stabilize the motion of the truck.
Abstract:
Operation of the industrial vehicle is managed by devices onboard the vehicle. One such management device includes a portable memory device issued to a person authorized to operate the vehicle. The vehicle control system, by reading data from the portable memory device, determines whether the person is permitted to operate that particular industrial vehicle and if so enables that operation. Another management device transmits a data signal through a power line on the industrial vehicle and uses a magnetically permeable wire bead in a unique manner to negate a short circuit effect that a component has on the data signal transmission. A further management device includes a module to interface a data acquisition module, designed to connect to a communication network of one type of industrial vehicle, for use with other vehicles.

Abstract:
An electrical assembly comprises a mounting bracket lift assembly and an electrical center. The electrical center is attached to the mounting bracket lift assembly for plugging wiring harness end connectors into the electrical center. The electrical center comprises a lower housing, a circuit board sub-assembly, an upper housing, electrical components such as fuses and relays that plug into the upper housing and a cover. The circuit board sub-assembly includes a power bus bar that provides a power path for the various electrical circuits of the vehicle via the circuit components carried on the circuit board. Three power bus bars that are configured, oriented and located to reduce the foot print of the electrical center and/or to improve the dissipation of heat generated by the electrical center are disclosed.

Abstract:
A vehicle includes a vehicle frame, a vertical mast coupled to the vehicle frame, and a carriage movably mounted to the mast for ascending and descending along the mast. At least one hydraulic cylinder moves the carriage along the mast, a hydraulic pump pumps hydraulic fluid into the hydraulic cylinder, and a flow valve controls the flow of hydraulic fluid between the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic cylinder. A sensor senses an actual descent speed of the carriage and a controller controls the flow valve to allow descent of the carriage at a requested descent speed. The controller controls the flow valve to limit descent of the carriage to a unsolicited descent speed limit if a difference between the actual descent speed and the requested descent speed exceeds a threshold value.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for short circuit protection to a motor vehicle starter circuit. The invention includes providing a switching mechanism positioned intermediate to a DC power source and the starter. A controller manipulates the switching mechanism between an open position and a closed position, the closed position connecting the starter circuit to the DC power source and the open position disconnecting the starter circuit from the DC power source.
