    摘要: A battery post connector having a body member formed from sheet metal comprising a clamp section for attachment to a terminal post and a base section for rigid connection to a battery cable. The clamp section has an inner surface adapted to grippingly engage a battery post to inhibit angular rotation and includes elongated slots disposed oblique to the central axis of the battery post with opposite edges adapted to penetrate the battery post and a coined pattern extending adjacent and parallel to the slots. The terminal is clamped to the battery post by a nut and bolt assembly with the nut being force fit mounted to the clamp section for good electrical continuity therewith and heat sink characteristics and the bolt having a captured bolt head for positive mechanical opening of the connector.

    摘要: This specification discloses an automobile terminal block for receiving fuses and electrical connections to various electrical components of the automobile. Connection to the fuse blade contact from the rear of the terminal block is improved. The terminal block has a passage extending between the front and rear of the terminal block which has therein a fuse holder. The fuse holder is adapted to receive the blade contact of a fuse. The rear of the terminal block has openings for receiving accessory connectors to be connected to a portion of the fuse holder. The openings for the accessory connectors on the back of the terminal block have raised boundaries for distinguishing the openings and have a polarizing means so that each accessory connector is uniquely associated with one opening and can be inserted only in the correct orientation. The terminal block also includes a resilient finger having an extending protrusion which is received in an opening in the fuse holder thereby securing the fuse holder. A stop plate spaced from the resilient finger limits movement of the resilient finger out of the path of the fuse holder thereby limiting the stress which can be applied to the resilient finger so that the resilient finger does not break and remains in place to apply a locking force to the fuse holder. The terminal block has a configuration so that mounting brackets and additional auxiliary components can be attached to the basic terminal block to improve the versatility of the terminal block and extend its use to a greater variety of applications.

    摘要: This specification discloses an automobile fuse terminal block for receiving fuses and electrical connections to various electrical components of the automobile. The terminal block has a passage for receiving the blade contacts of a fuse. Electrical contact to the fuse blade can be accomplished either from the front or rear of the terminal block. First, a fuse holder positioned in the passage can contact the blade contacts of a fuse. Access to the fuse holder can be both from the front and the rear of the terminal block thus providing for contact to the fuse blade both from the front and the rear without the need for removing the fuse. Second, a connector adapter entering an access from the back of the terminal block extends sufficiently into the access to provide mating with the blade connector of the fuse.

The method comprises dispensing a composition adapted to be cured to form said sealing member onto a work surface adapted to be adjusted to a desired configuration, partially curing said composition such that it does not flow, adjusting the disposition of said work surface bearing the partially cured composition such that said shaped surface to which the sealing member is to be integrally bonded may be disposed along said work surface, positioning said shaped surface along said work surface such that said shaped surface is at least in contact with said partially cured composition, completing the curing of said composition and removing said shaped surface with said sealing member integrally bonded thereto from said work surface. The invention has particular significance with respect to the application of sealing members to various automotive parts.

    摘要: This specification discloses a fuse holder for an automotive terminal block for receiving fuses and electrical connections to various electrical components of the automobile. The fuse holder is positioned within the terminal block and is adapted to receive the blade contact of a fuse thereby establishing an electrical connection to the fuse. Typically, the fuse holder has a spring clip with two prongs spring biased against one another so that the blade contact can be resiliently secured between two prongs. The fuse holder can have a pair of attaching prongs to hold a wire providing an electrical connection to the fuse holder. A stop tab is positioned adjacent the attaching prongs so that a wire slipped between the attaching prongs is limited in movement toward the spring clip of the fuse holder so that it does not interfere with entry of the fuse blade between the two prongs.

    摘要: This specification discloses an automobile terminal block for receiving fuses, and electrical connections to various electrical components of the automobile. The terminal block has a passage extending therethrough for receiving a fuse holder which is mounted within the terminal block. The fuse holder is adapted to receive the blade contact of a fuse thereby electrically connecting the fuse to the fuse holder. Typically, the fuse holder has a spring clip with two prongs spring biased against one another so that the blade can be resiliently secured between the two prongs. The terminal block includes an entry control ledge for guiding the blade contacts of the fuse toward the fuse holder. The entry control ledge extends from the sides of the passage in a position aligned with the spring clip so that the blade contact can be guided between the prongs of the spring clip and does not enter the region between the prongs and the walls of the passage. An entry control ramp can extend above the entry control ledge and provides both a securing influence and a guiding force on the body of the fuse. The upper face of the prongs positioned toward an incoming blade contact can be angled so that the blade contact striking the upper face is guided toward a position between the prongs.

    摘要: This specification discloses an automobile terminal block for receiving fuses and electrical connections to various electrical components of the automobile. The terminal block has a passage for receiving a fuse holder which is mounted within the terminal block. A blade contact from the fuse is received by the fuse holder. The upper end of two adjacent passages receive a portion of the body of the fuse. At both ends of the fuse, extending upward from the top of the passages is a generally semi-circular fuse guard. The fuse guards shield the fuse from forces that might result in accidential or undesirable removal of the fuse from the terminal block. The fuse guards are spaced from one another and extend only around an end portion of the fuse so that a central portion of the fuse can be easily grasped by the fingers for easy removal from the terminal block. The terminal block also includes an identification surface extending laterally outward from the base of the fuse guard so that information identifying the fuse adjacent the surface can be inscribed thereon. It is particularly advantageous that there can be this combination of a fuse guard and an identification surface. Further, the fuse guard and identification surface can be mounted on a removable connector body which can be removed to provide a space adapted for receiving a circuit breaker, which is larger than a fuse. The fuse receiving passages can also include an entry control ledge for guiding and securing a fuse.
