摘要： A needle assembly includes a needle and a hub mounted to each other. The hub includes a sidewall spaced outwardly from the needle cannula and extending to a distal position between the opposed ends of the needle cannula. A housing integral with the hub defines a sidewall to partially confine a safety shield. The safety shield is slidably disposed about the needle cannula and releasably retained in a proximal position and can be moved to a distal position where the safety shield completely surrounds that portion of the needle hub projecting distally from the hub. The needle assembly includes a spring for propelling the safety shield to the distal position and a latch for releasing the safety shield from the proximal position. The latch may be passively activated by normal usage of the medical implement to which the needle assembly is mounted or alternately activated manually.

摘要： A system for applying labels to objects includes an object supply for supplying objects substantially equally spaced and aligned in single file for labeling. The system also includes a label applicator for applying a label to an object from the object supply and a label supply for supplying the labels to the label applicator. Each of the labels are joined at an end to at least one other of the labels. The system also includes a labeling finisher to detach the end of each label from the at least one other label and to smooth the end of each label onto their respective object.

摘要： A tertiary carboxyl functional polyester resin useful for production of powder coatings is produced by reacting at least one aliphatic compound comprising two aliphatic hydroxyl groups and a tertiary carboxyl group with at least one cycloaliphatic carboxylic acid compound comprising two secondary aliphatic carboxyl groups or the anhydride thereof, wherein each hydroxyl group independently is a primary or secondary hydroxyl group, and wherein the number of hydroxy groups exceeds the number of carboxylic acid groups and anhydrides thereof. The reaction continues until essentially all the non-tertiary carboxyl groups initially present in the reaction mixture have been reacted. These polyester resins may be used together with a suitable curing agent for the production of powder coatings, or may be converted into the corresponding glycidylesters, which in combination with a suitable curing agent can be used for the production of powder coatings.
