    摘要: A permanent magnet rotor configuration which produces four magnetic poles utilizing two sets of symmetrically-disposed permanent magnets. The slots carrying the magnets exhibit a truncated V-shaped configuration, extending from points on the periphery of the rotor to meet the ends of a straight, central portion which lies parallel to a tangent to the rotor shaft. A short magnetic bridge interrupts the center of each slot, the slots being disposed generally symmetrically upon opposite sides of the rotor shaft.

    摘要: A closure for securing conductor bars in the coil slots of a dynamoelectric machine consisting of a U-shaped clip which is inserted into the coil slots over the conductor with the legs of the clip extending between the sides of the conductor and the winding slot. Spring-like tabs which, in the preferred embodiment, are the lower portion of the legs bent upward, snap into longitudinal grooves provided in the side walls of the conductor slot when the top portion of the U-shaped clip contacts the top of the coil sides. This permits insertion of the slot closure from the top of the slot by merely pushing downward until the tabs snap into the side grooves.

    摘要: A synchronous machine having a Lundell-type rotor is provided with a stationary excitation winding positioned at the axial end of the rotor with a continuous annular magnetic flux collector core surrounding the winding. This collector provides a dual, relatively shorter, continuous flux path between alternate poles of the rotor as it sweeps past the flux collector without including the stator yoke or housing in the flux path.

    摘要: A permanent magnet rotor configuration which produces two magnetic poles. Two pairs of axial slots are provided in which permanent magnets are arranged about the rotor shaft. A third, diametrically opposed pair of slots is provided which extend radially outwardly and in which permanent magnets are disposed.     摘要: A vertical electric motor embodying the invention has a housing including a cylindrical frame enclosing a stator, a rotor and a shaft affixed to the rotor and mounted for rotation about a vertical axis, upper and lower end frames, a heat generating thrust bearing supported on the top end frame and rotatably supporting shaft and rotor, and a lubricant-receiving reservoir within the motor enclosure above the top end frame and enclosing the thrust bearing. Liquid lubricant within the reservoir is in heat absorbing and lubricating relation with the thrust bearing. A plurality of finned heat transfer heat pipes are supported within the reservoir with their evaporator end submerged in the lubricant and their condenser end exposed to air within the motor housing above the top surface of the lubricant and enhance heat transfer from the lubricant to the atmosphere. Air inlet apertures and air exhaust apertures are provided in the motor enclosure above the reservoir, and a plurality of fan blades rotatably driven from the shaft draw a high volume of air into the space within the motor enclosure above the lubricant and force the air past the condenser end of the heat pipes and out of the exhaust apertures to thereby substantially increase cooling of the thrust bearing.
