摘要: An apparatus for molding and a molding method utilizing a moveable mold platen which may hold, have affixed to, or carry a first portion of a mold or molds. A second or door platen may hold, have affixed to, or carry a second portion of a mold or molds. The door platen is placed in its closed position, and the moveable mold platen is brought up adjacent to it, so that the two portions of the mold are brought into engagement with one another. A desired molding material is injected into the mold cavity, after which the moveable platen is retracted, the door platen is opened, and the part is removed. A part to be encapsulated may be placed into the mold before the two portions of the mold are brought into engagement.

摘要: A weather radio adapted to automatically select a preferred channel of operation. A receiver is coupled to a signal quality circuit that outputs signal quality parameters. A controller is coupled to control the frequency of reception of the receiver and is coupled to receive the signal quality parameters. A memory is used to store several signal quality values, and is coupled to the controller. When the controller receives a stimulus, it controls the receiver to sequentially receive all the weather radio frequencies of reception and store a signal quality value for each. The controller subsequently controls the receiver to receive one of the frequencies of operation based upon a comparison of the stored values to select a preferred one of them. The radio is therefore programmed to receive the preferred channel and monitor NOAA Weather Radio transmissions for the local FIPS codes and other weather alert messages.

摘要: A fuel-air metering system functioning according to precise flow and geometrical equations. An air throttle valve and fuel valve are positively linked with the flow crossectional area of each valve proportional to that of the other. Fuel pressure drop across the fuel valve is regulated in precise proportion to the pressure drop across the upstream orifice of a two orifice in series air flow system which bypasses the air throttle. Careful shaping of the air throttle, the bypass system orifices, the fuel valve, passage geometry, and the servo valve fuel regulation system results in an accurate porportioning of fuel flow to air flow.

摘要: A molding method and apparatus is shown which utilizes a plasticizing or injection unit in combination with a horizontal booking press having a first or moveable mold platen carrying a first portion of a mold or molds, and a second, or fixable, door platen carrying a second portion of a mold or molds. The door platen swings open and closed on a hinge, and is fixable in its closed position. When the moveable mold platen is in its′ closed position adjacent the fixed position of the door platen, a mold cavity is formed by the first and second portions of the mold or molds, and material is injected into the mold cavity.

摘要: A method and apparatus for simulating telephony services and providing information about telephony services and products without the use of a public carrier telephone system. The system includes at least one Telephone Interface (TI), connected between a telephone and the simulation system. The emulator receives, decodes and validates a user initiated command signal, converts it into a control signal and activates a playback sequence which emulates telephone services. A plurality of different telephone functions and services can be simulated without connection to external telephone lines or wireless service.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of upgrading a tank or a method which involves the assembly of an inner tank within an existing outer tank. In the method of the present invention, rolled panel sections are inserted through a hole of an existing outer tank. The rolled panel sections are adjacently positioned within the existing outer tank and expanded so as to conform to the shape of the existing outer tank. End cap sections either flat or domed depending on the shape of the outer tank are also installed through the hole. All of the seams (axial and transverse) are sealed so as to provide for an inner tank within the outer tank that can rate as a stand-alone tank. Circumferential ribs are installed and attached along a length of the inner tank so as to provide for a structural rigidity of the inner tank. With the method of the present invention it is not necessary to completely replace an existing tank and at the same time, if the outer tank has structural weaknesses, the tank can be strengthened by the formation of the inner tank utilizing the method of the present invention.

摘要: A protective housing assembly, and an associated method, for storing optical storage media, such as a compact disc or digital video disc. The housing assembly includes a housing base member and a housing cover member that are positionable in a confronting arrangement that defines an enclosure. When storage media is positioned at the area forming the enclosure, and the housing base and cover members are positioned in the confronting arrangement, an airtight enclosure is formed. Air is evacuated out of the enclosure by an evacuator to form vacuum conditions at the enclosure. Environmental elements that might degrade or damage the storage media are maintained thereby out of contact with the storage media.
