    摘要: A method and apparatus for performing Reed-Solomon (R-S) coding in a mobile communication system supporting a broadcast and multicast (BCMC) service are provided, where a determination is made as to whether a change in a broadcast overhead message (BOM) exist including information with parameters used for the BCMC service. A position of data in a new channel encoder buffer is calculated at a time when the BOM is changed. The channel encoder buffer is filled with predetermined data in an interval ranging from a start point of a buffer comprising data in the change point of the BOM to a point preceding a point of data first transmitted according to the changed BOM.

    摘要: An apparatus for receiving and decoding a double-coded symbol in a communication system using a double coding scheme for encoding a Reed-Solomon (RS)-coded symbol with a predetermined scheme for communication. In the apparatus, an inner decoder receives a frame formed with the double-coded symbols, and primary-decodes the received frame. An RS decoding buffer stores an output of the inner decoder frame by frame, and an RS decoder reads symbols in the same column from symbols of a frame stored in the RS decoding buffer, performs RS decoding on the read symbols, and generates an RS decodable indicator value for each symbol. A log likelihood ratio (LLR) update unit updates an LLR value using the RS decodable indicator value, and outputs the updated LLR value to the inner decoder.

    摘要: An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system with a multicell or multisector structure includes a plurality of base stations and mobile stations. Each of the base stations interleaves data for transmission to the mobile station, performs space-time coding (STC) on the interleaved data into a plurality of space-time code streams, selects one of the space-time code streams every predetermined code stream selection period such that different space-time code streams are transmitted to at least one cell or sector from among cells or sectors formed by the base station and other base stations, and outputs the selected space-time code stream as an OFDM symbol. Each of the mobile stations STC-decodes a space-time code stream obtained by performing Fourier transform on the OFDM symbol, deinterleaves the STC-decoded data, and channel-decodes the deinterleaved data into its original data.

The code's spectrum is concentrated in the low-frequency band, thereby improving the signal-to-noise ratio.
