Abstract:
Antimicrobial, hard surface cleaning compositions that effectively clean and reduce microorganisms on a surface without resulting in unacceptable filming and/or streaking residue on the surface, generally comprise (a) cationic antimicrobial active; (b) nitrogen-containing polymer; and (c) surfactant. Preferred antimicrobial, hard surface cleaning compositions for use in no-rinse cleaning methods comprise (a) from about 0.001% to about 0.5%, by weight of the composition, of surfactant; (b) cationic antimicrobial active; and (c) nitrogen-containing polymer. Methods of cleaning and reducing microorganisms on hard surfaces comprises contacting the surfaces with such compositions and preferably allowing the compositions to dry on the surface without rinsing the composition from the surface using water or other rinsing solution.
Abstract:
Detergent compositions containing certain acetals or ketals which hydrolyze upon exposure of surfaces washed in solution of said compositions to a reduction in pH, thereby releasing a fragrance which is characteristic of one or more of the hydrolysis products. The acetals and ketals themselves also form part of the invention; they have a molecular weight of at least about 350; a ClogP of about 4, and a half-life of less than 60 minutes when measured at pH=0 by the pro-fragrant hydrolysis test.
Abstract:
This invention is a fabric delivery system for liquid laundry detergent compositions which comprises a &bgr;-ketoester selected from a Markush group of &bgr;-ketoesters. Laundry compositions also contain surfactants and carriers.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to orthocarbonate pro-fragrances useful for delivery of sustained perfume or fragrance to fabric treated with a laundry detergent composition which comprises the herein described pro-fragrances. The orthocarbonate pro-fragrances are also suitable for use in hard surface cleaning compositions. The orthocarbonate pro-fragrances are further suitable for use in personal care compositions. The present invention also relates to method for delivering a pleasurable scent to fabric which has a lasting freshness quality by contacting the fabric with the fragrance-releasable orthocarbonate pro-fragrances of the present invention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fragrance delivery system for use in laundry detergent compositions which provides a long lasting "freshness" or "clean" scent to fabric. The compositions described herein deliver highly fabric substantive .beta.-ketoester pro-fragrances to the fabric surface during laundering wherein the pro-fragrances release their fragrance raw materials over a period of up to two weeks. The present invention also relates to a method for delivering a pleasurable scent to fabric which has a lasting freshness quality by contacting the fabric with a laundry detergent composition which comprises the fragrance-releasable .beta.-ketoester pro-fragrances.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to perfume and fragrance pro-accords which are suitable for use in personal care and personal hygiene compositions as fragrance delivery systems. The pro-accords of the present invention slowly release fragrance raw materials upon contact with human skin thereby providing a prolonged fragrance benefit. The pro-accords serve as a means for delivering any fragrance raw material as well as other adjunct materials inter alia astringents, carriers, and diluents.

Abstract:
A liquid detergent composition comprising anionic surfactants selected from the group of alkyl alkoxy sulfates and alkyl sulfates, characterized in that said detergent composition further comprises a tertiary amine having formula (1), wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.4 -C.sub.10, preferably C.sub.8 -C.sub.10 alkyl; n is 2-4, preferably n is 3; R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 or formula (2), whereby x is 1-5, R.sub.3 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl. ##STR1##
Abstract:
The present invention provides preferred, preferably liquid, hard surface cleaning compositions, compositions with cleaning liquid composition on a substrate, compositions used with absorbent pads and implements and devices for making the process of cleaning hard surfaces and/or maintaining their appearance and hygiene easier and more effective. These compositions, along with specific instructions for use are advantageous for removal of and/or prevention of buildup of soils commonly encountered on floors, glass surfaces, counters, walls, showers and/or tubs, said compositions comprising hydrophilic polymers to render the cleaned surface hydrophilic and to improve the appearance when the surface is either not rinsed, or when the composition is incompletely removed, specific surfactant, preferably surfactant selected to minimize spotting/filming, optionally specific organic cleaning solvents to provide cleaning and wetting particularly in applications where levels of non-volatiles need to be minimized, and, optionally, anti-bacterial agents for preserving or surface activity and optionally perfumes for aesthetics.
