According to the present invention, there is provided a production method of pyrroloquinoline quinone in the free form and highly-pure crystals thereof, wherein the production method comprises preparing a solution having a pH of 1.5 or less by dissolving an alkali metal salt of pyrroloquinoline quinone to obtain a precipitate.
