The item editing method enables editing an editable item within a layout area via an item changing unit where prescribed areas are set as attributes of the item in the top side, the bottom side, the left side, the right side, the center point, and an internal area other than the center point of the item, and has steps of: specifying one of the prescribed areas of the editable item when editing the item; specifying any point in the layout area as a destination of the specified item; and selecting one of the editing units included in the item changing unit according to the specified point and editing the editable item within the layout area, the editing unit including an arch-shape generating unit, an item curvature changing unit, an item width changing unit, an item height changing unit, and an item position changing unit.

摘要： A label printer can reliably print an object in a desired position in the printing area of a recording medium. The label printer has a carriage that moves bi-directionally in a main scanning direction over a disc-shaped recording medium; a printer tray that is disposed movably in a subscanning direction with the recording medium placed thereon; an ink head that is disposed to the carriage and prints a desired object by discharging ink to a printing area on the recording medium in conjunction with movement of the carriage in the main scanning direction and movement of the printer tray in the subscanning direction; a detection unit that is disposed to the carriage and detects a reference position alignment mark that indicates a position used as a reference for appropriately printing the object in the printing area of the recording medium; and a printing position control unit that rotates the recording medium so that the object is printed in the printing area of the recording medium based on the reference position alignment mark detection result from the detection unit.

摘要： The effect of detection errors when detecting if a disc recording medium is in a disc drive is eliminated. A control unit 17 detects if an optical disc 11 was supplied to an optical disc drive 13 based on the operation of the transportation unit 16, causes the optical disc drive 13 to detect if an optical disc 11 is inside the disc drive, and compares the results of these detection operations. If the results do not match, the control unit 17 causes the optical disc drive 13 to repeat the operation discharging and loading the optical disc 11, and causes the optical disc drive 13 to again detect if an optical disc 11 is present after the discharge and loading operation. The control unit 17 then determines if the new detection result from the optical disc drive 13 and the detection result related to supplying the optical disc 11 to the optical disc drive 13 match, and based on the result of this evaluation detects an optical disc drive 13 operating error.
