    摘要: A multi-core-fiber optical connector includes a first ferrule and a second ferrule. The first ferrule has a first step defining a first upper surface and a first lower surface. The first upper surface has a plurality of first receiving grooves for receiving the vicinities of leading end portions of optical fibers and engaging portions formed on opposite sides of the first upper surface. The second ferrule has a second step being abuttable against the first step, and defining a second lower surface opposite to the first upper surface and a second upper surface opposite to the first lower surface. The second lower surface has a plurality of second receiving grooves receiving the leading end portions of the optical fibers. The second upper surface has engaged portions engageable with said engaging portions, and is formed with a recess receiving a band-like elastic cushioning member therein. The first and second ferrules are detachably joined with each other in conjunction with the engagement of the engaging portions and the engaged portions.

    摘要: This invention concerns a large-diameter optical fiber that is improved in the bandwidth and bending loss and that can be produced at low cost with higher productivity. The optical fiber comprises an inner core having a refractive index profile in which refractive indices increase toward the center axis thereof, an outer core provided outside the inner core and having a constant refractive index not more than the minimum refractive index of the inner core, and a cladding provided outside the outer core and containing a plastic material having a refractive index lower than that of the outer core. In the optical fiber, total refractive index difference (.DELTA.n.sub.total), defined as the difference between the maximum refractive index of the inner core and the refractive index of the cladding, is not less than 0.015 and not more than 0.1; and a outside core diameter of the outer core (d.sub.1) is not less than 100 .mu.m and not more than 500 .mu.m.

    摘要: A fiber fixing device for a linear lightguide comprises a tubular chuck and an elastic tubular body. The chuck includes a hollow part along its axis for receiving an optical fiber, a grasp part for grasping the received optical fiber, and a coupling part supporting the grasp part. The elastic tubular body is elastically expanded outwardly in the radial direction and in this state is fitted onto the grasp part of the chuck. Thus, the elastic tubular body exerts an elastic restoring force to radially inwardly press the grasp part which thereby grasps the optical fiber.

    摘要: An interface module for transmitting a digital video signal includes: a transmitting interface unit which is designed to be connected to a host device for outputting a video signal, and which has a cable connection consisting of a 4-core optical fiber cable and a 4-core male connector provided at one end thereof; a receiving interface unit having a cable connection designed to be connected to a video output display unit and consisting of a 4-core optical fiber cable and a 4-core male connector provided at one end thereof; and an optical cable unit for transmitting TMDS signals consisting of RGB signals and clock signals. The transmitting and receiving interface units are interconnected by the optical cable unit. The transmitting interface unit includes a second integrated circuit outputting identification information (DDC signal) associated with the video output display unit.

    摘要: There are provided a connector body having an accommodating recess in which a pair of ferrules and a pair of springs, respectively fitted over a pair of optical fibers, are accommodated, as well as a connector cover. The connector cover is provided with fixing pins, and the connector body is provided with fixing holes into which the fixing pins are press fitted. A spring pressing portion is provided on the connector cover for pressing the spring with a natural length in the direction toward its distal end at two positions when the fixing pins are press fitted into the fixing holes, and for holding the spring in a compressed state when the fixing pins have been press fitted. A guide taper is formed at a tip of the spring pressing portion. A pressing-portion fitting groove for inserting and guiding the spring pressing portion is provided in the connector body.
