The plate segments are manipulated to secure the plate segments to the respective vertebrae and lock the plate segments in position relative to one another.

    摘要: A system includes a sleeve including first and second arms each including an outer ramp and an inward projection, each of the arms defining a cavity. First and second extensions are configured for disposal in the cavities. A fastener includes walls defining an implant cavity and a distal portion. The walls each include first and second end surfaces and a locking cavity. The extensions are configured for translation relative to the sleeve between a first orientation such that the extensions engage the respective ramps to fix the projections with a respective locking cavity in a configuration to capture the fastener with the sleeve and a second orientation such that the extensions move out of engagement with the respective ramps so that the projections are movable out of engagement with the locking cavities to release the fastener from the sleeve. Methods of use are disclosed.

    摘要: An instrument is provided for reduction of a rod or other elongated member into an implant, such as a bone screw. In one embodiment, such an instrument includes a rod adjusting assembly pivotably attached to an implant holding assembly. The implant holding assembly can be pivotably connected to an implant, and the rod adjusting assembly is operable to move a rod toward or away from the implant holding assembly. In that embodiment, several motions are possible by the instrument so that relatively small or large movements of a rod with respect to an implant may be made.

    摘要: An adjustable connector including first and second connector members rotationally coupled together and configured to receive first and second spinal rods, respectively. In one embodiment, the first connector member includes an elongated slot that receives the first rod and has a length extending along an axis arranged transverse to the rotational axis, and the second connector member includes a second passage that receives the second rod. A lock member is positioned between the connector members and includes an angled rod bearing surface extending along a plane oriented at an oblique angle relative to the rotational axis. A compression member extends into the first passage of the first connector member and into compressed engagement with the first rod to displace the first rod along the length of the elongated slot and into sliding engagement with the angled rod bearing surface, which in turn axially displaces the lock member toward the second connector member to compress the first interface surface of the lock member against an opposing second interface surface to selectively prevent relative rotation between the connector members.
