摘要: An implantable laminoplasty device is provided that can be used in minimally invasive surgery. The device includes a main housing with an inner housing slidably receivable by an outer housing. A gear is disposed in the main housing and engageable with a gear rack of the inner housing to adjust the length of the main housing. The gear defines an aperture configured to accept a tool to translate rotational movement into linear motion. A lock is slidably disposed in the main housing sized and configured to fix the length of the main housing when the desired length is achieved by slidable translation of the inner housing in the outer housing. The device also includes a laminar shelf portion and a lateral mass connection portion defining bone screws and both being hingedly connected to the main housing.

摘要: The present invention provides an expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. In one embodiment, the fusion device includes a body portion, a first endplate, and a second endplate, the first and second endplates capable of being moved in a direction away from the body portion into an expanded configuration or capable of being moved towards the body portion into an unexpanded configuration. The fusion device is capable of being deployed and installed in both configurations.

摘要: A variable lordotic interbody spacer including a face plate, superior and inferior endplates coupled to the face plate via a hinge, an actuation frame between the endplates, and an actuation screw. The face plate includes actuation and stabilizer channels. Each of the endplates has endplate arms coupled by an endplate base, and includes actuation ramp recesses. The actuation frame includes frame arms coupled by a frame base in a generally U-shaped configuration, each actuation frame arm having a stabilizer feature passing through a corresponding stabilizer channel and having actuation ramp pins fitted to a corresponding ramp recesses. The actuation screw passes through the actuation channel, with a head retained at the front surface and a threaded end coupled to the actuation frame. When operated, the actuation screw moves the actuation frame between the superior endplate and the inferior endplate to adjust an angle therebetween.

摘要: The present invention provides articulating expandable devices and insertion tools for deploying the articulating expandable devices. The articulating expandable devices are capable of being inserted into narrow spaces and turning around corners. The articulating expandable devices are capable of increasing in height and width when expanded from a closed configuration to an open configuration to occupy a larger volume and to present a larger surface area. The articulating expandable devices are lockable and are capable of rigidly occupying a space after expansion. In some embodiments, the articulating expandable devices are useful as interbody devices for spinal fusions.

摘要: A medical device for treating hip joint osteoarthritis by providing a joint surface is provided. The medical device comprises at least two artificial hip joint surface parts, wherein said at least two artificial hip joint surface parts are adapted to be connected to each other to form an artificial hip joint surface during an operation. Furthermore a method of treating a hip joint of a human patient by providing said the medical device is provided. The hip joint comprising a caput femur and an acetabulum, the method comprises the steps of: cutting the skin of said human patient, dissecting an area of the pelvic bone on the opposite side from said acetabulum, creating a hole in said dissected area, said hole passing through said pelvic bone and into said hip joint of said human patient, and providing said medical device to said hip joint, through said hole in said pelvic bone of said human patient.

摘要: A laterally deflectable asymmetric implant for implanting into a body may comprise a deflectable piece having distal and proximal ends and assuming a straightened insertion state. The backbone may abut or interconnect with said deflectable piece at the distal end of the deflectable piece. In a fully deflected state the implant may define an asymmetric shape, e.g. a D-shaped loop, defining an at least partially enclosed volume. The deflectable piece may comprise a sequence of segments interconnected at effective hinges. Longitudinal pressure applied to the proximal end of the deflectable piece (or applied to the backbone in an opposite direction) may cause relative longitudinal movement between the backbone and the proximal end of the deflectable piece and may generate outward horizontal movement of the deflectable piece away from the backbone. In one embodiment, the implant is implanted using lateral access into an anterior zone of a vertebra and deployed posteriorly.
