Abstract:
A firing or ignition state discrimination system for an internal combustion engines having a spark plug which produces spark discharge when supplied with discharge current from an ignition coil to ignite air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. In the system, ionic-current that flows during combustion of the air-fuel mixture is detected at a predetermined first timing and leakage current that flows across electrodes of the spark plug is detected at a predetermined second timing which is later than the predetermined first timing. The firing or ignition state of the engine is discriminated to one from among normal, misfiring, spark plug fouling, and failure in ignition system or in fuel supply system based on the detected ionic-current and leakage current and presence or absence of fuel cutoff to the engine. With this, it becomes possible to accurately discriminates the firing or ignition state of the spark plug and to inform the fact to the vehicle operator if desired.
Abstract:
In the case of using a database storing therein data on a plurality of circuits which are different in parameters such as circuit scale, memory capacity, number of pins, and operating frequency, the respective parameters of the circuits are analyzed automatically and a semiconductor integrated circuit device is designed automatically in accordance with the result of the analysis such that specifications required thereof are satisfied. For processor circuits, a micro-code and the like are analyzed automatically such that the processor circuits are improved or integrated. In the case of using block function IPs containing operations and circuit elements, a database storing therein IPs in a hierarchical configuration is used and a connecting portion between the internal functions of the IPs is withdrawn to the outside of the IPs, whereby a new IP or system is constructed.
Abstract:
An ignition coil unit to be installed in a hole opened through a cylinder head of an engine having a case, an ignition coil installed in the case and comprising a primary coil connected to a power source and a secondary coil connected to a spark plug which is installed in a combustion chamber of a cylinder of the engine for producing spark discharge to ignite air-fuel mixture to generate combustion thereof in the combustion chamber, and a circuit board on which an ionic-current detection circuit, connected to the secondary coil, which detects ionic-current that flows during the combustion of the air-fuel mixture; and a processing circuit, connected to the ionic-current detection circuit, which generates an output indicative of the detected ionic-current, are formed; In the unit, an igniter is also installed in the case, thereby improving detection accuracy of ionic-current and misfiring.
Abstract:
A mobile communication system in which various access methods may be selected according to the user's priority. In the mobile communication system, each of a mobile station and radio base stations has a radio processor, which has TDMA, CDMA and FDMA communication units. The CDMA communication unit comprises channel coders each for performing a primary modulation to a transmitting signal, spread-spectrum code generators for respectively generating different spread-spectrum signals, a clock generator/controller for controlling the generation of chip clocks to control the generation of the spread-spectrum codes, oscillators for setting different carrier frequencies to outputs calculated as products, and a CPU for generally controlling various parts or elements to control the assignment of a CDMA signal or a TDMA signal to an arbitrary time slot transmitted from the TDMA communication unit. The radio processor transmits different signals of different access methods existing in each time slot of the same frame different signals.
Abstract:
A machine tool comprising a table on which a spindle holding the workpiece moves in horizontal direction along the workpiece. A tool post is sidewardly movable toward the table. An arbor head is connected to the end of the post and is both axially and circumferentially movable. The arbor head includes a powered arbor for holding and possibly rotating a tool. The result is that the workpiece is movable in one direction and the arbor support is movable in two other orthogonal directions as well as being rotatable. Thereby, a variety of complex machining operations may be performed. A tool magazine and an automatic tool changer are provided.
Abstract:
In a system for detecting misfire for an internal combustion engine wherein ionization current that flows following the discharge current is detected and integrated during a period (gate) and occurrence of misfire of the engine is detected based on the integrated value, a processing delay circuit is provided which inputs at least one of the discharge current or the ionization current and based on the inputted current, delays starting of the period by a time point which is not earlier than termination of the discharge current. With this, the system is unaffected by fluctuation in ignition coil discharge period, various kinds of noise and the like, and can therefore ensure accurate misfire detection by preventing erroneous detection owing to such causes.
