    摘要: A space safety apparatus monitoring a volume of space encompassing a field of view (FOV) for detecting an intrusion including a gas or vapor, and includes a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) having mirror elements in a mirror array for reflecting infra-red (IR) energy beam collected from the FOV and an IR energy detector for detecting the IR energy reflected by the MEMS array and converting the IR energy to an output signal. A processor adjusts an angle of an element of the MEMS mirror array by varying a control signal, or by switching from one to another focusing element. The method includes detection in a volume of space by positioning a MEMS mirror array to reflect IR signal with respect to active elements of an IR detector; and collecting IR energy from an ith portion of the FOV.

    摘要: A wireless security device, such as a door or window motion sensor, that can be mounted almost entirely within a recess of a door, window or frame, with only the antenna mounted on the surface of the door or window jamb. The wireless security device has a housing suitable for being embedded within a structure such as a door, window or frame. In the housing are a security sensor circuit adapted to generate an alarm signal when activated, a radio frequency (RF) transmitter connected to the security sensor circuit for transmitting an RF signal when the alarm signal is generated, and a power source (such as a battery, piezoelectric element, solar cell or fuel cell) for supplying operating power to the security sensor circuit and the RF transmitter. A substantially flat surface mountable strip is located in proximity to the housing and is suitable for being mounted outside (i.e. along the surface of the structure). The surface mountable strip has an antenna that is coupled to the RF transmitter for emitting electromagnetic energy corresponding to the RF signal from the transmitter. In addition, the embedded antenna provides a predictable transmission pattern resulting in increased range and reliability.

    摘要: A lock position detection device includes a door locking mechanism having an actuator operable so as to be in a first position causing the door locking mechanism to lock the door or a second position causing the door locking mechanism to unlock the door. The device also has a magnetic field detection unit with a magnetic field sensor adapted to output a first signal when the magnetic field sensor detects a magnetic field and a second signal when the magnetic field sensor does not detect a magnetic field, and a wireless transmitter coupled to the magnetic field sensor for transmitting a radio frequency signal based on signals received from the magnetic field sensor. A magnet is coupled to the door locking mechanism such that the magnet enters proximity of the magnetic field sensor when the actuator is operated to one of the first position or the second position and causes the magnetic field sensor to output the first signal, and exits proximity of the magnetic field sensor when the actuator is operated to the other of the first position or the second position and causes the magnetic field sensor to output the second signal. The lock position detection device also has a magnetic field shield located with respect to the magnetic field sensor so as to prevent a magnetic field originating from the outside region of the door from being detected by the magnetic field sensor. The magnet may be coupled to the door locking mechanism such that the magnet enters proximity of the magnetic field sensor at an angle generally perpendicular to the magnetic field sensor when the actuator is operated to one of the first position or the second position and exits proximity of the magnetic field sensor at an angle generally perpendicular to the magnetic field sensor when the actuator is operated to the other of the first position or the second position. In particular, when a reed switch is employed as the magnetic field sensor, the magnet is located so as to enter and exit proximity of the magnetic field sensor substantially along (but offset from) a centerline of the reed switch.
