    Abstract: A method for designing human-centric lighting (HCL) for illuminating a space is provided. The method includes: providing use-related information to a floor plan of the space; performing a search in a database of historical lighting solutions based on the floor plan to find a lighting solution matching the space; extracting a layout method from the lighting solution matching the space; performing a search in a lighting device database; selecting a lighting device available for the space and layout from the lighting devices; simulating an installation of the lighting device into the space based on the layout; calculating lighting data; performing a search in a lighting standard database; checking whether the calculated lighting data meets an applicable lighting standard; and generating an HCL lighting plan if a result of the checking shows a conformity of the calculated lighting data to the applicable lighting standard.
