    摘要: A process for purifying a degraded oxime metal extractant organic phase from a metal extraction circuit wherein a degraded oxime metal extractant organic phase comprised of an oxime metal extractant, and aldehyde or ketone degradates in a water immiscible hydrocarbon solvent is reoximated thereby restoring the oxime extractant organic phase for further extraction in the metal extraction circuit. Optionally the degraded organic phase may be purified by distillation prior to reoximation. The distillation is carried out in a wiped film evaporator at temperatures above 180.degree. C. up to about 250.degree. C. at a pressure from about 0.5 mm Hg or lower up to about 10 mm Hg and the reoximation is carried out with hydroxylamine in the presence of a weak organic carboxylic acid as a phase transfer catalyst and in the presence of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide or carbonate, preferably sodium carbonate.

    摘要: Novel hydroxy-aryl ketones are disclosed having a branched hydrocarbon chain on the aromatic nucleus ortho to the hydroxy group. The compounds were found to possess anti-microbial properties and are also useful as intermediates to the preparation of the corresponding oximes. In particular, it relates to a treatment of said amino acid containing aqueous mixture prior to extraction of the amino acid with a water immiscible organic solution containing a water insoluble extractant for said amino acid.     摘要: An improvement in the process for preparing hydroxyarylaldehydes is disclosed where a phenolic compound is reacted with formaldehyde, in the presence of a catalyst such as a titanium or zirconium containing catalyst, optionally in the presence of a catalyst promoter, wherein the improvement is the addition of a yield effective amount of a modifier having the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of: an alkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group that can have 5 and 6 carbon atoms, and an H, and where R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of: an alkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, and a cyclo alkyl group that can have 5 to 6 carbon atoms; and where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 can together form a cyclic group that can have 5 and 6 carbon atoms.
