    摘要: A method for providing selected content items to a user. The selection of content items is based on metadata pre-assigned to content items, typically authored content metadata, and on metadata generated and associated afterwards, called derived content metadata. Additionally, the selection of content items can be based also on context metadata, particularly derived context metadata. Derived metadata are automatically generated on the basis of derivation rules corresponding to algorithms to be applied to, e.g., the content of content items, authored content metadata and context metadata. User profiles can be used for improving the selection quality. A method is also disclosed for building and maintaining user profiles based on machine learning techniques.

    摘要: For managing denial of service situations at an application level in a communications network receiving message data, the message data are monitored in a sensor that sends an event message when detecting an alarm condition; a control logic detects a first analysis to be performed associated with the received event message and generates a request; an analysis module receives the request of analysis, performs the analysis and sends a result message; the control logic receives the result message and detects an action to be taken associated with the result message, the action being a countermeasure or a further analysis. For determining the analysis to be performed and the action to be taken, the control logic browses rules stored in a memory, each rule including a conditional clause and an associated action to be taken.

    摘要: A method for estimating a quality of experience of a user receiving an information content stream distributed through a telecommunications network, includes: collecting a plurality of measures of at least one characteristic parameter of the information content stream during the distribution thereof through a telecommunications network; deriving from the collected measures an abstract representation in terms of gaps in the information content stream, wherein a gap corresponds to a value of a collected measure below a predetermined threshold; determining a temporal distribution of the gaps in the information content stream; and calculating an index of perceived quality of experience based on the temporal distribution of the gaps in the information content stream, wherein the index of perceived quality is related in a non-linear way to the temporal distribution of the gaps.

The server includes a buffer storing a first number of service requests and having a maximum storage capacity.
