    摘要: A composite hull construction for boats and the like is disclosed. A rigid inner box-like structure of steel or aluminum is provided and acts as the main structural element of the hull, a rigid synthetic foam core being intimately bonded to the exterior surfaces thereof. The exterior surface of the foam material is easily formed as desired to define the outer configuration of the hull and a layer of resin impregnated glass fibers is layed-up over the foam to provide a protective outer skin for the hull.

    摘要: A water saving toilet construction includes a toilet unit which is adapted for flushing with less than approximately one gallon of water, a holding tank which is located beneath the toilet unit and a macerator discharge pump assembly which is operative for macerating waste effluent from the holding tank and discharging it into a sewer line. The holding tank has a volume of at least approximately two and one half gallons so that a sufficient volume of waste effluent can be discharged from the toilet at one time to minimize the potential for clogging the sewer line.

    摘要: A prosthesis for maintaining the male penis in an erected disposition during sexual intercourse includes an open ring-like end portion which is receivable in substantially encircling relation on the shaft of a penis adjacent the base of the glans, a pair of support wire elements which extend rearwardly from the end portion along the underside of the penis and along opposite sides of the scrotum to points therebehind, and a retaining ring slidably received on the support wire elements and positionable thereon adjacent the end portion for closing the end portion around the penis. The prosthesis further includes a resilient band element which is securable to at least one of the support wire elements behind the scrotum and postionable so that it extends over the upper side of the penis adjacent to the base thereof for urging the penis forwardly and also slightly upwardly. The preferred form of the prosthesis further includes a stabilizer member which is attached to the support wire elements behind the scrotum and extends rearwardly and upwardly in the posterior crevice between the buttocks for adding further stability to the prosthesis.

    摘要: The device comprises a power pod or enclosure housing a marine drive. The pod comprises a streamlined housing extending directly from the hull of the ship. This houses either a single or a double prop drive. In the double prop drive, the props are positioned both fore and aft of the pod. The props are driven by short shafts extending into the pod and supported by suitable bearings. Each shaft is driven by a gear belt drive from the hull just above the pod. The power supply is adjacent this point. This materially reduces the length of the drive shaft and thus reduces noise and vibration. Furthermore, after the prop is removed, a boot can be placed over the outside of the shaft and bearing, allowing the shaft and associated bearings and drive mechanism to be withdrawn into the hull directly from the pod. Repairs and adjustments can be quickly and easily be made inboard. The drive can thus be repaired, adjusted, or otherwise reached from the inside of the hull and even while the ship is in motion.

    摘要: An oyster cultch made of plastic, stiff wire, or any other suitable material, in which crossed arms are provided which are coated with a material which repels the oyster spats. The outer ends of the arms are provided with members of any suitable shape on which the spats will adhere and grow. This member should be of a calcium carbonate concentrate or be coated therewith. The ends of the arms being spaced from each other, it provides room for optimum growth. The spider members with the crossed arms are strung on rigid wire strings in spaced relation, the spacing being provided by plastic tubing between the spiders. A rectangular float is used to suspend the strings. Each float comprises a frame with a 12 inch X 12 inch wire mesh. One string is suspended at each intersection. Room is thus provided for the optimum flow of water borne nutrients and for large even growth of the oysters. The spacing of the spiders and the strings insures that each oyster is in its own cube of space and that all the cubes of spaces are equal.

    摘要: A composite hull construction includes a metallic skeletal frame of truss-like configuration including a longitudinally extending keel plate, first and second side wall structures extending upwardly from opposing side edges of the keel plate assembly, and a top wall structure extending between upper portions of the first and second side wall structures. A synthetic foam shell entirely encapsulates the side and top wall frame structures and covers the interior surfaces of the keel plate assembly. The foam shell rigidly fixes the frame members in position and increases the compressive strength of the skeletal frame to prevent buckling of the side wall and top wall structures. An exterior fiberglass skin covers the side walls and the top wall to provide a water resistant covering over the foam shell and skeletal frame. The hull further includes an integrated fire suppression system that detects heat/smoke within the hull and automatically dispenses a fire suppression agent, such as carbon dioxide to the interior of the hull.
