    Abstract: A side-clamp type honing guide provides dual-bevel functionality. The honing guide includes a lever having a first position which positions the blade at a desired angle for a primary bevel, and a second position which easily, reliably and repeatably adjusts the angle of the blade for a second, “micro” bevel after the primary sharpening operation has been completed. The primary and secondary bevels can be imparted to the blade without removal or adjustment of the blade relative to the honing guide, allowing the user to quickly and efficiently toggle between the primary and secondary bevel configurations.

    Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to a pedal for a bicycle that includes a body, a spindle rotatably secured to the body and for connection with the bicycle, a first magnetic platter non-rotatably secured within the body, and a second magnetic platter rotatably secured within the body and overlaying the first magnetic platter. The first and second magnetic platters each include two magnetic blocks that are separated and magnetically charged by a respective permanent magnet plate positioned therebetween.     Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to a pedal for a bicycle that includes a body, a spindle secured to the body and for connection to the bicycle, a first magnetic platter, and a second magnetic platter overlaying the first magnetic platter. The first and second magnetic platters each include a plurality of blocks formed of a material that can be magnetized, and a plurality of permanent magnet plates arranged so as to magnetize the blocks with either a magnetic north or magnetic south polarity with adjacent blocks being magnetized with opposite magnetic polarities. The second magnetic platter is movable with respect to the first magnetic platter by a ferrous metal cleat between a first position where the pedal is in a magnetically inactive state and a second position where the pedal is in a magnetically active state magnetically securing the cleat to the second magnetic platter.

    Abstract: A magnetic lifter device having a housing with a work piece engagement face. A support structure comprises two clevis-shaped members having, respectively, legs whose terminal ends are hinged to opposite, exterior side faces of the housing at respective fulcrums located close to the engagement face and the clevis-shaped members straddle the housing across a width thereof. The relative positions of the fulcrums and the length of the legs are selected such that at least one of the clevis-shaped members may be rotated away from a first operational position of the lifter device, in which both clevis-shaped members converge to form a common hoop for insertion of a coupling member, into a second operational position, in which the work piece engagement face has been rotated by about 90 degrees from its orientation in the first operational position and its head portion remains clear of the housing during said rotation.
