Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a likelihood score that is indicative of a likelihood of a pet developing at least one of a disease, a clinical condition or other trait are disclosed. An example method may include: receiving, at a server system, pet data associated with the pet, wherein the pet data includes genetic data and breed data; generating, using a processor of the server system, a likelihood score for the pet associated with the clinical condition by applying the pet data to a trained machine learning model, wherein the trained machine learning model is trained to predict likelihood scores for the clinical condition; and causing, by the processor of the server system, a visual representation of the likelihood score to be displayed on a user device, wherein the visual representation includes an indication of the likelihood of the pet developing the clinical condition. Other aspects are described and claimed.

Abstract: A method is provided, comprising feeding a cat a foodstuff comprising a protein to fat ratio of 1:0.27 to 1:0.63 on a gram:gram as fed or dry matter basis, and measuring the level of glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) in a blood sample from the cat before and after feeding the foodstuff. A reduction in GIP levels and/or maintaining low levels of GIP post-prandially is indicative of a foodstuff useful in preventing accumulation of and/or reducing body fat in a cat and therefore controlling the body weight of a cat.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of predicting quality of a food product sample after a mixing process, based on properties of the food product, comprises: building a hybrid model by: training an autoencoder in an unsupervised learning step using historical process data of food product samples; training a supervised model in a supervised learning step using the output of the autoencoder; and predicting the quality of the food product by inputting process data of current samples into the hybrid model and classifying the samples.

Abstract: A temperature control system may include a thermoelectric device and one or more solar panels operatively connected to the thermoelectric device. The one or more solar panels may provide solar power to the thermoelectric device. A controller may be operatively connected to the thermoelectric device. A first insulating layer may surround a receptacle and a second insulating layer may include a plurality of channels. The controller may switch the thermoelectric device between an ON state and an OFF state based upon a threshold availability of the solar power. The thermoelectric device may receive forced air convection through the plurality of channels in the second insulating layer to maintain a temperature inside the receptacle when the thermoelectric device is in the ON state and may reduce air circulation within the receptacle to substantially maintain the temperature inside the receptacle when the thermoelectric device is in the OFF state.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for providing pet health diagnostic and aftercare information. Pet metadata associated with an activation code is received from a pet profile server, wherein the pet metadata and the activation code have been input by a first user using a first user device. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) results associated with the activation code are then received from a qPCR results server. A correlation is determined between the pet metadata and the qPCR results based on the activation code. One or more reports containing a diagnosis and/or a health recommendation are generated based on processing the pet metadata and the qPCR results. The generated one or more reports are transmitted to at least the pet profile server, the first user device, or a veterinarian device for display.

Abstract: Disclosed is a mounting base (300) for attaching a portable electronic device (402) to a collar apparatus (400). Mounting base (300) includes a frame (102) and a latch (200). Latch (200) is moveable between a latched position and an unlatched position. Latch (200) includes an actuator (206) with a button (208) that may be depressed by a user to manually move latch (200) between the latched and unlatched positions. A portable electronic device (402) includes an insertion portion (410) that is received in a receiving aperture (108) in the frame (102). Once the insertion portion (410) is inserted, the device (402) may be rotated manually to engage latch (200). During rotation, a lock stub (216) on latch (200) engages a corresponding feature on insertion portion (410), thereby preventing counter-rotation of device (402). Additionally, one or more tabs (120) on frame (102) interfere with corresponding structure on insertion portion (410) to secure device (402) onto mounting base (300).
