Abstract:
A moulding composition comprising (a) a melamineformaldehyde resin having a molar ratio of melamine to formaldehyde in the range 1:1.5 to 1:2.5 which upon hardening is capable of withstanding heating at 200.degree. C concerned for 2 hours in air without causing significant structural damage or color change to moulded articles made from moulding compositions in which it has been incorporated, (b) an accelerator derived from a mono- or dibasic organic acid, (c) an inorganic filler having low adsorption characteristics and an oil adsorption value of 10 to 40, (d) a further inorganic filler and (e) an external lubricant comprising at least one carboxyorganosiloxane esterified with an alcohol containing up to 4 carbon atoms and the process of preparing said moulding compositions.
Abstract:
A cutting device has a jacket member (22) embodied to selectively shield or expose a rotor commutator (6), and a cutting mechanism (24) fixed to the jacket member (22) having scissors (25) with a scissor (25) drive. The scissor (25) drive displaces the scissors (25) in an axial direction as well as in a direction having a radial component relative to the jacket member (22). The jacket member (22) is brought into a position in which it shields the commutator (6). After winding and fastening a wire into a winding element (4), the scissor (25) drive is triggered to move the scissors (25) in an axial and radial direction towards or beyond the axial end of the jacket member (22) via which the commutator (6) can be inserted into the jacket member (22). The scissor (25) blades (44, 46) are triggered to cut the wire while the scissor (25) drive is triggered to move the scissors (25)in the opposite direction.
Abstract:
Method for the preparation of starch hydrolysis products containing mixtures having a dextrose equivalent of 5 to 10 which mixtures have the property of forming together with water, white glossy thermoreversible gels having a neutral taste, which gels are stable to freezing and defrosting and the consistency of which gels may be varied from pasty to cutting hard depending upon the proportion of water contained in the gel, comprising mixing two starch products which in the admixture have an average dextrose equivalent of 5 to 10, the starch products being of respective degrees of polymerization differing from the other by at least ten times and each of the starch products being branched and at least one of the starch products being a starch hydrolysis product.
Abstract:
Food additive, having utility for example as a thickener is prepared by mixing an optimum concentration of a starch-hydrolyzing enzyme and a starch or pre-treated starch in water in a concentration of the starch of 15-50% by weight at a pH optimum for the enzyme, heating the mixture to a temperature at which the starch grains swell and permitting the starch to hydrolyze, inactivating the enzyme by additional heating of the mixture, and cooling the mixture to form a gel or dehydrating the mixture to form a dry hydrolyzate.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an improved catalyst for the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate by reacting methanol, carbon monoxide and oxygen in the gas phase and to the use thereof. The catalyst consists of a copper-containing zeolite produced by admixing one or more halide-free copper(II) compounds to a zeolite in a liquid medium, drying the zeolite modified by the admixture, and tempering at 400-900° C. under inert conditions, essentially retaining the crystallinity of the zeolite, said admixing being effected by means of a method selected from the group consisting of impregnation of the zeolite, ion exchange, precipitation of copper(II) hydroxide in the presence of the zeolite, and a combination of these methods. The catalyst shows high space-time yields, is constant over the period of operation and has no corrosive action.
