    摘要: A core for obturating a root canal includes a body that has a pre-formed contour that closely matches a contour of the root canal. When the core is inserted in the root canal with or without sealer, there are essentially no voids in the root canal. A method of making a customized root canal obturation core includes generating a three-dimensional image of a root canal. The method also includes manufacturing the customized root canal obturation core based on the three-dimensional image of the root canal. The customized root canal obturation core has a preformed contour that closely matches a contour of the root canal such that when the core is inserted in the root canal with or without sealer there are essentially no voids in the root canal.

    摘要: A system for creating customized root canal obturation cores is provided. The system receives a 3D image data set representing one or more teeth. The system then displays an image of a tooth of the one or more teeth. After receiving at least one user input, the system constructs a 3D output data set from the 3D image data set based on the at least one user input. Next, the system converts the constructed 3D output data set to control data. A computer controlled manufacturing system can use the 3D output data set to manufacture a customized root canal obturation core.
